I'm finished picking, but I'm still open to trades. If anyone is interested in any of my players, PM me an offer.

i think ike was a good choice. i wouldn't be surprised if he had a breakout season this upcoming season.

Ike was a good pick, I was considering him with my last pick but chose Maxiell because he is a better defender.

The draft is not dead.

Its slowed down a bit because were in the 8th round. If it needs updating someone please PM and Ill update the selection thread.

Amir Johnson? I didn't even think he would be picked at all let alone in the 9th round.

QUOTE (L)

he's 11th/12th round worthy. Thats being nice.

Not even he only played 11 total NBA games.

He averaged 18.9 PPG 9.7 RPG 3.1 BPG in the D-League.

When he came up and played in the NBA at the end of last season, he averaged 5.9 PPG 4.6 RPG 1.6 BPG in 15 MPG. Thats pretty damn good for a 19 year old. If he could put up 8 PPG 6 RPG 2 BPG, isn't he worth it as a ninth rounder?

In his 4 games, where he played more than 10 minutes, he averaged: 10.8 PPG 8.0 PPG 2.8 BPG in 25 minutes....good, no?

In the 2 games in which he played more than 30 minutes, he averaged 16.0 PPG 11.0 RPG 5.0 BPG in 36 minutes....outstanding, no?

I am just ahead of the curve on this guys, and you guys are missing out. He will break out this coming NBA season, and he'll be on my well balanced, talented, and intuitively put together roster.

Meh. At least it's not as bad as the Arroyo pick. It's an absolute miracle that he's still in the NBA.

I dunno, GK6 is primed for now and the future. I'd be interested to know which SG he plans to play ahead of Stucky though.

He will have a stagnant offense because of Hinrich's overdribbling, and inability to make a post entry pass.

Didn't he take a worse team to the playoffs last year? Didn't they sweep the defending champs? I still think he's a great PG.

my bus driver was named Amir. true story. bosnian dude, probably 5'8. Amir Johnson always reminds me of my bus driver.

I hope you don't honestly believe that Kirk Hinrich took the Bulls to the playoffs.

The main reason the Bulls were in the playoffs was Ben Gordon. Then in a quite distant second was Luol Deng. Then Tyrus Thomas, when he came on in the end of the season is when the Bulls really took it up a notch. Then not sure what Hinrich had to do with the sweep, I think Gordon's 25 PPG and 6 APG, or Luol Deng's I think 26 PPG were what made the sweep happen, and not Kirk's 11 points on like 42 TS%.

Yeah, I don't know too much about Hinrich's style of play, but I agree that offense could be the weakness of that team. I think the defense will be great though.

[/QUOTE]

I think just Kirk Hinrich is the biggest weakness on that team. He will stagnant the offense, but also, putting Hinrich at point guard doesn't let him be too sucessful on defense. Ben Gordon guarded point guards for most of the year, and generally did a great job defending them. People just saw Hinrich as the point guard, and said he was the reason for the point guards being shut down, when in reality it was Gordon. Hinrich always guarded the shooting guards, and thats because thats all he's good at. He's not a good defensive point guard, but he is good at defending shooting guards. He simply is too slow to keep up with the TJ Ford's, Allen Iverson's, Michael Conley Jr.'s, etc.

Amir Johnson was an excellent, excellent pick at this point in the draft.

Detroit didn't sign him to a significant contract because they think he's some bum that belongs in the D-League.

There's even a decent chance he will start for them right out of camp, which means a HUGE jump in his numbers.

I can't believe people think this is a bad pick when so many broken down, fairly useless players who were never very good in the first place have been selected and nobody said boo about them.

Somehow I don't think he's beating out Prince or Rasheed- unless you think they're sliding Sheed over to center. But he is going to get some decent minutes this year. And stop calling Jason Williams useless!

Who else are they going to start at center? Its obviously Rasheed.

Than they have McDyess, Maxiell, and Johnson.

Maxiell (who I believe already went), isn't all that great, just an energy guy. McDyess is going to be 33, declining, and he was only solid last year (and have they resigned him yet?).

I wouldn't be shocked if Amir Johnson started the season at powerforward for the Pistons.
