He is. An argument can be made for Deron, but certainly not for McGrady or Arenas.

Melo, Arenas and TMac are all better

I rate them as:

1. Carmelo Anthony
2. Tracy McGrady
3. Gilbert Arenas
4. Chris Bosh
5. Deron Williams

As cornerstones of a team, none of those guys are better than Bosh.

McGrady is one of the most over-rated players in the NBA. He is a perennial loser and along with Vince the most mentally weak star in the NBA. Maybe it's something in their blood.

Melo is a tremendous scorer but too one dimensional for my liking.

Gilbert Arenas is a chucker that dominates the ball. Teams with guards that monopolize the ball don't win.

I love Deron Williams and consider him the best young point in the NBA and third best overall behind Kidd and Nash. He is a winner.

Bosh can't create well enough for himself and he doesn't create for others. Melo does both. TMac does both. Arenas does both. Bosh played worse in the playoffs than anyone on that list.

I am interested in acquiring a 1st or early 2nd, PM me with offers I am the Pacers.

In order to fill out the last three spots, I propose that we give the three absent teams selections 28-30 and reorder the draft in order to make the teams more attractive to anyone that wants to participate. It would take some work and it would mean that some trades may be changed to reflect the new order, but I think it's the fair thing to do. We would have to pause the draft temporarily in order to preserve the current order, in my opinion, also.

Thoughts?

If you could, please PM posters that would actively participate.

I'm looking for another 2nd rounder without giving up either of the two I already have. If at all possible, PM me or hit me up on AIM at jcjb0506

What team am I taking?

Anyhow

1. Deron Williams2. Chris Bosh3. Tracy McGrady4. Carmelo Anthony5. Gilbert Arenas

Or maybe we just remove those teams without changing the draft order and it just means better players will be available

QUOTE (GMJigga)

Or maybe we just remove those teams without changing the draft order and it just means better players will be available
I'm absolutely against that. If you guys really do not want to revise your trades, than the new teams will simply select now and go with what they have, even though it's unfair to them.

On the contrary, if you add them to the end, it's unfair to trades that have already been made.

QUOTE (cpawfan)

To respond to the comment made it the selection thread, Bosh isn't a better building block than the players selected before him.
I thought about picking Bosh, but then I took Arenas instead because I wanted an elite scorer who I would feel comfortable with to rely on at the end of games.

How so? I'm not sure I understand.

Why?

Deron Williams is a young floor general who has already shown superstar potential. Not a bad point to start with your team.

That has shown "superstar potential." Bosh, Arenas, Tmac and Melo are all better players than Deron Williams at this point. To rate Deron #1 out of those 5 players shows homerism or you just can't get off his jock.

Playing the PG position makes his value higher. So does his age. I don't think it's as bad as you make it seem to rank him that high.

Ben Gordon and Luol Deng were better than some of the allstars in the East, and they didn't make the allstar game. The allstar game isn't a barometer for whose better.

I knew I would hear that from good ol sloth.

In the fifth game of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs in 2005, Arenas hit a 16-foot fadeaway as time expired to give the Wizards a 112-110 win over the Chicago Bulls. The Wizards eventually won the series, the franchise's first such victory in more than a decade.

Still stings doesn't it.

It seems like we will not reorder, as sloth has already made his selection.
