Hopefully Carter gets the fan vote so there's a room for a Bull in the backcourt. Having an underserving player like Iverson in there would ruin it for Rose/Gordon. This is a big problem with the fan vote. Ben Gordon probably should be going to the allstar game this year, but the fan vote will put in an undeserving Iverson, which bumps him out of the game. It's amazing, a guy who hasn't played a game this season is beating out a 20 PPG scorer. This is a problem when you consider that his allstar status will likely be brought up during contract negotiations.

The whole point of all-star voting is to make it so the most popular players end up in the all star game. If Yi's fan club goes 1 billion deep, that just means more people watching the All-Star Game, and that's good for everyone.

You assume they even watch the game. When was the last time anyone really sat down and watched the ASG? It's terrible to watch, just dudes taking turn showboating in a meaningless game. I rather watch And1 show on ESPN for this style of ball.
