I think we'll see a move made for a more of a banger back up four unless they really think Pendergraph could handle that duty in spot minutes if Outlaw isn't getting it done.
If they lose Odom, I can see it better. Otherwise, remember that they got less out of Bynum than they could have, due to injury. So LA actually does have some upside over last year's performance.
I guess we'll see, but going from first round to WCF is a massive jump. An even larger jump, getting past the defending champions, is probably asking too much.
Rice asked Miller if he was hoping to become a Blazer. "Oh man, you've got to help me out if you can (not knowing who we were, obviously, and the fact that we have zero juice in this department). I really want this. This is the perfect fit for me, and things are looking very good. I can help this team."
why? both Martell and Batum are career 37% 3 point shooters. Besides an exaggerated reputation as a shooter, what does Martell bring to the table that Batum doesn't?With that starting 5 I imagine either Batum will have a much improved Shot, or Webster will be healthy and start.
Maybe Yuyuza is KP!VERY. And pretty telling really--fuels the belief for some that KP overvalues his players.
IMHO that's a mild raping of Houston. I'll admit that I don't know how long Battier's deal is for so that would factor in.
Maybe Yuyuza is KP!
exactly!
Yeah, you gotta admit aside from being a Western conference rival Houston looks most prepared to be a trade partner. They have a glut of SF's (Battier, Ariza, Budinger) and PF's (Scola, Landry, Hayes, Dorsey). They need a SG or a C.Another thought: Miller and Blake buys them time, and very productive time at that, to find the heir to their PG throne. We now have Bayless, Koponen, and Mills in the cooker. We now have another draft and off-season. Will any of them prove to be worthy of taking the helm? Maybe. Maybe not. But, we got time.
For now, PG is not a concern. Getting a banger or another SF, now that's a different question.
shhhhhh.... Keep that on the DL, please.

I seriously don't see another team out there that has so much of what we need (Backup PF or SF). We could do two seperate deals (Wallace and a PF) but that would be harder now that we don't have cap. What we do have is tons of trade assets. Especially if we get a PF/C or excellent backup PF in return.

Practice is over and I got the worst news of the day... Dre Miller signed with portland...ruined my day...what the @#!¤?
From Iguodala's twitter:
Kobe will be 31 next season and Fisher will be 35... there may be some downside as well.If they lose Odom, I can see it better. Otherwise, remember that they got less out of Bynum than they could have, due to injury. So LA actually does have some upside over last year's performance.
often the team that wins the championship isn't necessarily the best team but the best team that navigates it's way through the injury minefield. Adding Miller (who was my favorite FA this summer) along with the internal improvements I expect to see, and I don't see a finals appearance as that far fetched. I think they should be one of the top 4 teams in the West (w/Denver, San Anton & Smogville)I guess we'll see, but going from first round to WCF is a massive jump. Martell is a better shooter. You can pull out percentage all you want, but it doesn't account for the entire picture.why? both Martell and Batum are career 37% 3 point shooters. Besides an exaggerated reputation as a shooter, what does Martell bring to the table that Batum doesn't?

This will sound a bit crazy, but I could see Portland starting the game with Blake, bringing Miller off the bench with the second unit, and then keeping Miller around in the fourth quarter when the first unit comes back in (Miller still getting the lion's share of the minutes).
80 wins, here we come!Miller went to the Nuggets and helped improved the team from 17 to 43 wins.

No offense, but you guys gotta quit quoting this guy!

To be fair - they got that 'Melo kid that year as well...

If only we had someone else to quote who was around the Blazers all the time...![]()
Uh oh.
That looks awfully familiar.
