do they also not allow Wagyu beef?
 
I guess I was just wondering about the difference in foie gras' cruelty to animals and wagyu and other methods of making meat products tasty for human consumption. Force-feeding a duck is illegal and immoral, but cutting a chicken's beak off so that it doesn't damage the meat of the other 1000 chickens you have packed into a shed is ok?

I don't give a shit how it's produced. No justification needed.
 
What if you order a steak with it on it, should you order no foie? What if in your lifetime you only eat an amount of foie gras equivalent to a non Inhumanely handled gooses liver, does that make it okay?

I'm not try trying to be snarky. These questions are meant to be taken seriously.
 
I really really want to try pressed duck. Basically they put the cooked duck with all the organs in it and crunch it up in this little metal press and all the organ juices form a sauce.

 
The two most interesting dishes I've had involving Foie Gras is a Foie Gras loco moco, which was at restaurant called "Animal" that uses more obscure meats you've probably never heard of. Didn't really like it, too gimmicky. There's a place here that does a Foie Gras cotton candy, which is just fucking awesome. Foie always pairs well with something sweet, so its a perfect combo, and the difference in textures is great.
 
I like fois gras as a spread on baguette, sometimes with honey drizzle. Haven't had it on much else.
 
I like it seared the best. I had a Foie Gras burger at Delmonico's in Vegas over the summer which was, by far, the best burger I've ever had in my life (and I fancy myself as a burger guy). They mixed the foie into the patty as well as a seared piece to accompany it. Just insanely good.

Not a fan of the terrine or torchon of foie gras as much (spreadable versions).
