I'd like to try it but it's too far away. We live in Lake Oswego. It's about three miles to Kruse Way and that's just an extension of Hwy 217. We then take the first Tigard exit and head a little over half a mile East on Barbur Blvd. to Buster's. Don't care as much for the Milwaukee Buster's.
I love the smell of a woodfire and the ambience of Buster's. I always get the same thing, beef brisket poor boy with no salt french fries extra fried. I wash it down with plenty of unsweetened iced tea with lots of fresh squeezed lemon. We always tip the bus boy and the person frying the french fries. They are so appreciative and we can afford the tip. They seemingly love to see us coming.

If your ever in the neighborhood then keep it in mind. I actually had it tonight for dinner. So good.

Buster's is ok, if you haven't been to Podnahs then you have to try it. Best in town by a long shot IMHO, it's the best I have found outside of Austin or Dallas also.

Did you like Pecan Lodge in Dallas? I didn't dig it all that much tbh.

I loved Podnahs

I liked Pecan Lodge very much, but I only ate there once so it's hard to get a good feel for everything. Their rib was crazyness, $30 each and I felt like Fred Flintstone eating it. My favorite all time BBQ is The Salt Lick outside of Austin.

Never been to Austin but may do my bach party out there. Rent a party house near 6th street.

Austin is one of my favorite cities. 6th Street is for the kids though, it's fun to walk through but you want to be a few blocks off where the adults hang out. My work actually paid for us to get training there during the week of SXSW once, we were in the Embassy Suites downtown, best work trip ever. SXSW is like 10 block downtown music festival that last for 4 days. I did 3 other work trips there, one for 3 weeks. Never got much work done though. Lake Travis is a blast also, great party and chill spot. And the food, the BBQ in Austin is legendary. You almost can't get bad BBQ there, it is Mecca for BBQ.

Wanted to rent a house like this for a few days. Its pretty fucking expensive though.

Basically stock it with booze, drink all day, go to bars to invite girls back to the pad. Get some Franklin BBQ and Salt Lick instead of going out to a steak house.

We'll see, it seems like a lot of work but don't wanna do vegas.

Podnahs is good. Always get the sampler platter.

I'll have to try again. When I went, I had some Torchys Tacos like 2 hours before.

I used to stop there for lunch a couple times a week before covid. You can’t go wrong on that menu.

beautiful little spot to have on my route for a little glutton like me

That sounds dope. You will have a blast. When are you planning it? Austin dies down a lot when school is not in session, so you might want to consider your timing. If you can do it during SXSW it will be animal house style, but I bet that is crazy expensive.

I'm not a big Vegas fan. I would prefer Austin, New Orleans or Nashville over plastic city any day.

Probably next spring. Already have done NOLA twice, once for Mardi Gras and for a bday a few years back. We did my brothers bach in Nashville. It was a smaller party, like 5 of us, I could have over 20 peeps. Logistics suck in Austin because housing and flights are usually more expensive than other spots.

Who knows. BBQ out there in Nashville was insane. Peg Leg Porker was THE SHIT. Did a bunch of Hot Chicken Sandwhiches, hit up Jack Daniels and ate at the restaurant next to the distillery...great experience.

I'm all about the Hattie Bs when I am in Nashville.

SXSW is in March, might want to make some deposits now. I've never done Mardi Gras but it has to rival it. The music scene in Austin is amazing on an average night. There's nothing like it.

Hattie B's is good, but didn't knock me out. They have one in Vegas at the Cosmo. But we hit up Prince's Hot Chicken Shack and that was the shit. It was way outta the way in a sketch neighborhood but it was the bomb.

Mardi Gras is way too much. Its too crazy. You really needed to do it when you are young, I stopped drinking for 6 months after it.

I have a pretty complete set of All Clad, properly treated they last a lifetime. As does well seasoned cast iron. Carbon steel is nice but requires more maintenance. I have one dedicated pan only for eggs that is wiped, never washed. A copper bottom saucepan my mother gave me when I moved out, a long time ago. Sized for one serving hot cereal, rice, rewarmed soup back before microwave. And a million or so baking pans.

Dude, those look a-mazing! Are they Hoods?
I'm not sure but they are amazing....and deep, deep red through and through...12 bucks to pick a 5 gallon bucket...got two yesterday, will go with the wife and try to get 4 buckets today and put them in the freezer...it's a great berry year....the blackberries on my acreage are enormous this year as well....might have to buy a 3rd freezer this summer We usually pick a trunk load of blueberries this time of year in the valley but they are closed due to the virus I guess.....my fruit orchard is thriving this season as well....going to have a lot of apples and pears

Wow, sounds wonderful. You're in Oregon, correct?

West Lane County...between Eugene and Florence in the foothills to the coastal range....

When I lived in Bend, sometimes I'd take that drive to the coast thru Oakridge. Beautiful.

I love Buster's dipping sauce with my brisket poor boy. The hot is a little too hot for me so I mix it 50-50 with the sweet - perfect.
They also have some super hot pickled carrot slices. I grab a few to eat with my meal. It's pretty hot so I drink lots of iced tea with plenty of ice (refills are free).
My wife and I order a single sandwich cut in half. We each eat one half. My wife eats all the meat with no bark and I eat most of the meat with lots of bark. The best part of brisket is the bark. I just don't like the fat that has bark. Can't stand fat unless it's on the edge of a NY steak and is burned black and then I just eat the black part.

Picked two 5 gallon buckets of strawberries today at the berry farm..going back tomorrow for round 2

Those ain't no California strawberries. I'll bet they're both sweet and have flavor. Probably have an intoxicating smell, too.

Thank you. I've taken that drive many times on our way down to Klamath Falls. Aren't they the place that had one of the last A & W root beer restaurants in Oregon?

lol...on my phone it looked like a lid of pot. Now that Ive got a better view they look like Oysters.

haha yeah oysters. I haven’t smoked weed in years. I’ll do an edible once in awhile. Not often
