My most recent purchase, a full stove top cast iron griddle. Here's a recent stir fry of chicken and veggies. This thing is seriously one of the best kitchen purchases I've ever made!

Bastard! Did you know I'm starving right now? I'm doing peritoneal dialysis and it's doing a little too good leaving me very very hungry.
My crazy wife would peel those potatoes until there wasn't a microscopic spot of peeling. They'd be half that long.

We have no gas at our new house. We're looking at an induction range. Pretty darned expensive. Not certain they're worth it. Anyone have one?

San Francisco Ballet is back and so are my lunches in San Francisco. In past years I looked for new places to try, but after two years want to revisit go to places. Had lunch at Absinthe Brasserie. Server brought dessert menu, and first item was foie gras ice cream. Thought it must be a euphemism, they don't really put duck liver into ice cream? Actually yes. Server offered me a taste. I like duck liver but combining it with ice cream is a non starter.
Got chocolate pots de creme.

Agreed. I like liver and I love ice cream but combining the two? No thanks.

Sounded like the pregnant woman pickles and ice cream joke.

And I have learned from experience to have only a mild cocktail before ballet. Otherwise, low lights, comfortable seat, strong drink ....
Still feels good to get home, take off high heels, pop out contact lenses, wipe off makeup, all while petting Lucia, who wants attention after my being out all day.

Either before the performing arts or a sporting event I want no alcohol. I'll take my drinks after I've enjoyed the intricacies of the show. When I was a young squirt my father used to like to go to a play and then go to Rose's on NW 23d and Burnside for a drink with what he called the after theater crowd. I decided that was for me.

Last thing I cook in house where I lived 24 years, cheese enchiladas. Realized food processor and cheese grater already moved to new house. I will have to improvise a bit

I took a shot for my 42nd birthday at midnight. I think it was about $40 for the shot. I didn't pay for that though.

I've had Don Julio Real in Mexico City, which is more expensive than that. It was like a $100 shot, but that was on an expense account when travelling for work.

I used to have a pretty good palate for tequilas back in the day. Not so much any more.

I had a $50 shot of scotch once in 1987.
