Perhaps I am out of date there. It has been over 25 years. Man I recall Chinese food all over BC being one mouth full, move on.

The demographics have rapidly shifted. Chinese food is really good out there nowadays.

OK.
I just thought some more. The last time I tried it was on trip to talk with a Naval Architect in Nanimo. Tried Chinese food there, that was in 2002.

Buster's...used to be Crab Bowl back in the day!

Wasn't a fan of when they turned into Busters.

The OG Chang's Mongolian Grill was at 217 & 26.

I've been going to the Crab Bowl since I was a small child in the mid 50s and I don't recall it ever being there. It was across the street and slightly West for a time.

I thought it was in both spots? Where Busters was and then it moved to where Fantasy Adult Video was?

Different Mongolian Grill. Trust me, the biggest and best one I've ever been to was first in the Tanasbourne shopping center until the center was torn down and then moved to it's current location on Cornell. We know the manager very well. He's been there all those years.

I believe Chang's was the only one in the Burbs forever.....the OG one was in Cedar Mill.

The owner's daughter-in-law is Korean and a friend of my wife's best friend. Her best friend is on the phone now and says she thinks the one in Cedar Mill was the original. The one in Tanasbourne went back at least to 1985. The Cedar Mill one must have been older.

Where in Tanasbourne? in/near Tanasbourne mall? damn, that was old school shit

I remember a movie theater that was close by. The restaurant was on the second floor, if memory serves me and it often doesn't.

I won't trust a chinese restaurant if its too clean.
I like Asian restaurants that are filled with Asian people eating....that's the secret..the less English you hear, the better the food..the really good ones will have trouble finding a fork

My wife seldom uses a fork. She eats almost entirely with chop sticks.

Yeah, could be, I just don't recall it.
My recollection is that the original Crab Bowl was where the “current” Crab Bowl (it doesn’t even look like it does any business) is....or very, very near. Then it moved north to an old Denny’s (or some shitty franchise). Whatever, it was in one of those cheesy ‘60’s cookie cutter “family restaurant” kind of buildings. Then somewhere along the line it moved back to where it is now. Back in the day the Crab Bowl was a hopping joint. We had friends who lived in Multnomah and we’d drive by the CB on our way to visit them. There was always a line out the door and down the street, especially on Fridays. As previously noted, I’m not sure it’s even opened anymore but the sign is still on the building.....

We go to Ocean City (SE 82nd) for dim sum on a regular basis and are usually some of the few whitey’s there. And the food is better than most PDX Chinese places. I can operate chop sticks but the wife can’t. So we ask for forks and yes, they really have to dig to find them. Plus, it gives the servers a good laugh and a smirk. We aim to please....

Used to be a very nice dim sum restaurant across the street from nike in Beaverton - I think it was Walker road. No idea if they are still there and good

You must be talking about the North side of the Campus and it is Walker Rd.

I've got a tremor in my hands and had to quit using chopsticks and start using a spoon and fork a long time ago. We never get the smirk. Maybe it's because my wife is Asian and we tip good.

It was near where it is now. However, my recollection is that it moved West into Tigard rather than North.
