The first time Eduardo Najera played basketball in Oklahoma, he was an 20-year-old OU freshman from Chihuaha, Mexico. He had played some high school ball in San Antonio…but barely spoke English. This week, the nine-year veteran returned, a hero to both Mexicans and Oklahomans, many of whom he invited to Monday night’s game. He points out that he, unlike his teammates, has never missed the NBA playoffs.
