A few fun mid-year bits have arrived, and our Blazers' bits need to pointing out. First, we have Wayne Winston's midterm notes. Good even if you're not a +/- believer, at http://waynewinston.com/wordpress/?p=402. I can't disagree with the Blazer snippet:
Portland

Amazing they are still afloat after all those injuries. Batum (+16), Bayless (+10), Miller (+13) and Webster (+13) all had great Point Ratings in January. The replacement centers (Howard -18 and Pendergraph -14) have played poorly.

I'm more a fan of Dave Berri's Wages of Wins, and here's his post with the Wins per 48 of every player as of a few games ago: http://dberri.wordpress.com/2010/01/24/every-team-and-player-at-the-midpoint-of-the-2009-10-season/ (and the money spreadsheet at http://www.wagesofwins.com/AllTeamMid0910.html). Unsurprising to find that Oden and Roy have been the Blazers best, and guys like LMA, Andre, Blake, and Webster look very average. Martell and Andre looked awful at the start of the season, though (among others), and we can hope their improvements stick. Or Batum blows everyone away. I'm good, either way.

Finally, someone used Google Maps' API and came up with a pretty cool view for how the current roster came to be: http://gmapuploader.com/iframe/t2BjjgKNHq (rest of league at http://wyndouglas.com/projects/flowcharts.htm).

Too much good stuff not to share .

I have dozens of these that I've saved in my Favorites over the years.
