Foreign Languages

1st this is a 2 part question. Question 1: Do you know any other languages other than English?I know both a little French and Spanish. I can hold a conversation in each for a little while. I'm not the best at speakin either, but i can understand them and read them pretty ok. I took both in high school. Question 2: Do you think its a waste of time to learn a foreign language since more and more ppl are learning English?I really kind of think it is since more and more ppl know English. I think its okay and sort of cool to know other languages, but i think its somewhat pointless unless your going to be using it every day as a translator or something of that nature. Since I've graduated high school I havent spoke 1 word of Spanish or French.

1. I used to take French, but I hated it so no, I really don't speak any other languages.2. I think it has it's advantages, but I just don't have the patience for it. English is really the world's language, it's not the most spoken but all the Western powers either speak it, or it's the second language.

1) Korean, and some Spanish. I took Spanish in High School and to tell you the truth I probably don't remember half of it. It's one of those things I just learned for a period and never use now. I know the basics and will have to remember it all again to fulfill the requirement at college. 2) I don't think it's a waste yet, going to a foreign country and knowing the language serves a useful purpose. Definately makes the transistion easier.

Spanish. The limited knowledge of speaking Spanish from me probably wont help me in life, plain and simple because I never picked up on the language very well, so yes it could possibly be a waste

I know English and French because we have French class in Canada. No, I dont think it's a waste of time to learn another language. It is a good thing to be fluent because you can visit a country or place (in my case, Quebec) and be able to communicate. And plus it makes you seem smarter :winkglasses:

My Mom is Japanese so i understand what she says when she speaks the language although I am not that great at speaking it. So i don't think its pointless.

1-I know English and Spanish very well and i'm still learning German.2-Of course not if you travel to another country it always helps to know the language,you can never learn enough.

1. I have to take one in school so I'm taking Spanish. I really don't understand it though, and the class is boring as hell!2. I think it's pointless to learn a foriegn language. You won't use it much or even at all.

No, I took 13 years of spanish and know nothing. No because I would love to know more than 1 language...but like Blaze I don't have the patience for it.
