Former Vice President Walter Mondale has passed away at 93. He served under Jimmy Carter and later ran for President in 1984 with Geraldine Ferraro as his running mate.

I remember him as the stand-in candidate when the most leftist Senator was assassinated a week before the election. Mondale's invevitable loss gave the Republicans the majority.
