...credit Bob, with an assist from Stick, for the 90's Championship teams.

Great article and long time Yankees fans will remember those Deals. Best of luck in his day to day life.

I am always reminded to take each day as if it is my last.

Always remember Watson whacking that double in the '80 ALCS with Willie thrown out at the plate. Howser and Ferraro getting canned after the season. Steinbrenner held people accountable.

...the good ole days.

Best wishes to Watson.
Good player good guy and always a part of the Yankee family.
The 1981 WS always comes to mind when I think about Bob Watson and his three run HR in the first inning of game one- I believe it was to RCF.

It's always rough when you lose a WS but that was a particularly memorable downer.
Yanks won the 1st two games and then a highly anticipated matchup in game three between the two very young good SP,Righetti and Fernando.
Rags got knocked out in the 3rd inning and Fernando went the distance allowing 4 R and George Frazier lost the first of his three games in that WS.

It's shame that he's pretty much forgotten. His moves along with the core they had in place got them that 1996 title.
