Fraternity brothers 'Googled head injury symptoms as 19-year-old student lay dying after hazing ritual'
- Chun 'Michael' Deng suffered 'major brain trauma' after being knocked unconscious during a game on a fraternity retreat on December 8
- But his fraternity brothers failed to seek help for more than an hour and he died in hospital the following day
- Police found drugs and torture documents in the rented Poconos home where the hazing occurred during a retreat
Fraternity brothers Googled head injury symptoms while one of their 19-year-old pledges lay dying following a hazing ritual, according to police documents.
Members of Baruch College's Pi Delta Psi searched online during the group's retreat in the Poconos last December while others changed Chun 'Michael' Deng's clothing, allowing more than an hour to pass before they took him to a local hospital.
He was put on life support but by then it was too late and he passed away the next day.
The college freshman's death has been officially ruled a homicide and now some of his frat brothers may face murder charges.
Around 30 members of the fraternity, who studied at the university in Manhattan, had rented a home in Tunkhannock Township, Pennsylvania in early December. Deng was one of four pledges to attend.
He was injured during a hazing ritual called the 'Glass Ceiling,' where people are blindfolded and made to carry 20 pounds of sand in a back while the other fraternity brothers tackled him.
