You know what hurts the capped teams, the salary floor. Bad teams WAY overpay lesser guys just to get over the floor. Hurts the financial scale.

Yeah, you should be happy with Boyle. You wanted an offensive dman over a defensive one sc.

I didn't think they could afford him but without getting a top center i guess thats where the money is going. Now they need the best 3rd/4th liner they can afford.

Ryan Miller to VAN, interesting signing there. Thought he'd want to go to a contender.

2 worst contracts today so far:

1. Pouliot 4/20 - Edmonton GM should be shot
2. Bolland 5/27.5 - Maybe they are trying to get above the floor but that is a horrendous contract

Not really surprised, his wife is an actress in LA I think he wanted to play on west coast and the Calif teams don't need goalies

I think its a good signing for 3 years but Vancouver should be trying to bottom out and rebuild. Hard to do in crazy hockey cities

I guess Miller didn't have many options to go play there. Amazing how much they f'd up their goalie situation in Vancouver.

Agreed Dis. Both may have to do with the salary floor. Both head scratchers to me. Pouliot especially.

Wonder if they can still fit Vrbata at 4+? Maybe Kulemin.

Vanek 3 years at 6.5 per with the Wild (that was expected). Don't love it.

Hiller to the Flames 2 years at 4.5 per. Like that one. Like what the Flames have done with Hiller and Raymond.

Havlat to NJ 1.5 for one year.

Moulson 5 years 5 mill per to the Sabres.

Good deal on Havlat...Not in love with Moulson deal.

3 years is a lot, but he is still good and tough. That team is built to do stuff if Varlamov holds up in goal.

5 years at 4 mill per for Stralman to TB.

I'll take Boyle for two years at 4.5 per.

5 years is a lot for Stralman, even though the cap hit is only 4.

Stralman 5/20 to Tampa

Thanks Anton but glad we didn't pay you that

Craig Custance

That's a completely reasonable number for Stralman.

I actually agree with the cap hit, but 5 years is too much IMO. I rather take a shot on Boyle for two years even at 500 K more.

In two years they can figure out signing another dman or two, plus Skjei and maybe one other prospect will be ready. Boyle is actually more useful to them this year.

I thought he would get more than 4m per. Still think it's too much for him, he's average at everything and great at nothing. Except for being average.

Gotta give Stralman credit he had a very good playoff run. He wasn't nearly as good in reg season though

22.5 for 5 years. So 4.5 per. MUCH rather have Boyle for two years.

They need John Moore to step up and make solid progress next year.
