Tony Allen?

Yes please ... he can be had for the MLE.

Reading that also gives me even more respect for LMA, who signed an extension to stay here for what turned out to be under his market value.

Let me get this straight. If a black player doesn't want to come to Portland because it's too white, that's completely natural and to be expected. But if a white player is uncomfortable playing in a black city like Detroit he's a racist.

Duh

Lots of lip service now. I want to see what he can do first

I don't want Mayo at all. Especially at the money he'll be getting. Would much rather get a guy like Tyreke or Iggy if we want to make a splash at SG.

Otherwise, I'd be pretty satisfied with a guy like Allen or even Courtney Lee if he becomes available-- their defensive impact would be just as valuable.

I don't want Mayo either. But please tell me what Tyreke brings to the table? I keep hearing his name mentioned so I keep watching Sacramento games and I just don't get it. IMO teams adjusted to his game after the first year. He never got better.

Actually the Pistons play out in the suburbs...... Nothin but white rich people as far as the eye can see.

I thought it was an interesting perspective on Olshey. I'm hoping he delivers this summer.

If he can get Tony Allen and Dalembert, as well as draft a decent wing, that would be fine.

I know it's unlikely, but if we could draft Oladipo, sign Allen and Dalembert, I'd feel pretty damn good going into next season. But something tells me that Olshey wants to make a bigger splash than Allen and Dalembert.

Wow, you're quick with the stereotypes, aren't you? I'll bet you the average "rich" white guy in suburban Detroit doesn't make a 10th of what the average black NBA player makes.

Drafting Oladipo (which would be pretty awesome) and signing Allen means that one of Wes or Batum is DEFINITELY gone, and puts the squeeze on wing minutes. Even if you start Allen and Batum and bring Oladipo off the bench, you're looking at a needing a pure PG for 10-12 mpg as well. Since you're not taking care of ballhandling with your SG (like Redick, Evans, or a draftee like McCollum) then you need one of those as well, and the likes that you're going to get with the room exception or vet min are the Ronnie Prices of the world. :dunno:

On the one hand, I love what Wes brings to the team. He's the heart and soul, but if you can bring in Oladipo and Allen, I think you have to say goodbye to Wes. I wonder what kind of value he has though.

Did you and HCP agree to trade avatars?

Reminds me of when Bill Laimbeer got his first big contract and was asked how it felt to earn more than his dad. "I don't," he replied.

This sentence IMO is by far the most interesting - looks like he's goin hard for a capspace and maybe pick for a C IMO

"Because if Olshey has his way, the majority of his roster will be complete by June 27, the night of the draft"

Detroit is a "black city"? Kind of makes you wonder about the popularity of the Detroit Red Wings. Who knew Hockey was a "black thing"?

(And, as HCP pointed out, you might want to check the demographics of Auburn Hills. Or basically any affluent suburb of any city in the country, except possibly some in Atlanta.)

Dude is the best defensive SG in the game. I doubt he signs for MLE anywhere.

He'll be 32 next season and the most he's made in a year is $3.1 million. I just don't see a team spending more than the MLE for him. Sure he's a great defensive SG, but that doesn't warrant a huge contract.

One person Quick didn't interview, I notice, is Eric Gordon.

Yes, poor Eric Gordon, with his bad knees, 15.4 PER on 29.1 USG, and somehow a max contract. That guy should be so bitter...

Shooting 3's and not attacking the rim?

There are two things I think our team needs to address.

1.) a sg that can attack the rim and create his own shot

2.) a defensive center that blocks shots, rebounds and sets great picks.

The rest is gravy
