Which is easier to change, his weight so he can play PF, or his shooting so he can play SF?

Why won't the organization have him put on weight?

Olshey should use his Hollywood contacts and bring in De Niro to explain how he did it in Raging Bull.

Quite a downer that the Claver experiment hasn't panned out thus far. Big fan of his BBIQ, team orientated play-style.
I still feel with a bit more playing time (ie. SOME playing time Terry!), he would regain some confidence, and with it, some form.
IMO he should at least be in the conversation with Wright, on the depth chart, at backup SF. If Wright can get minutes then Claver deserves a shot.

How much weight are you talking about? If it slows him down in any way then I would disagree doing that for any player. I missed the NBA TV discussion last night on the increased use of the stretch 4 as a weapon, but we all know it to be a factor. Which means it would be nice to have someone tall and quick enough to guard them 24 feet from the basket. Same for the bigger/longer SF's in the league.

Of course Claver only got into the game last night when we were up about 35 and there was about 2 minutes left. But then he gets in and I'm reminded that he can actually play! He moves fluidly and he just knows what to do. Seems such a waste.

But he can't hit a shot to save his basketball life. That is the problem.

That's the problem. He doesn't have one.

Victor will find another NBA job next season I hope, mid season there's just not enough opportunity for him to get a roster spot.

If Sergio and Rudy stayed oversees I'd be shocked if 15th man DNP Claver came back over. No team is paying him more than the minimum here.

If we still had Sergio, Rudy and Claver then we could have made a push for Pau last summer and Marc this summer and we could have had the Spain national team. That would be interesting to see how they would do in the NBA. Any predictions on how many games a team with that starting line-up could win in the NBA?

With McScribbles, 5.
With Stotts, maybe 50. Exposed on D all over.
With Budenholzer or Pop or Thibs (d-minded coach)...maybe 55 or so.

48-50 wins. I would say about 7th seed in the West and out in the first round (which is actually a pretty good accomplishment).

Rubio would need to be on that team too.

The impact players are the Gasol bros. Put them together with any three average bench players they win near 50 games. Take them off a team with the rest of the Spain stars it'd be one of the worst teams in the league. Marc is the best big man in the game and Pau is a quality all-star too.

Unfortunately, Khimki are in Eurocup, not Euroleague, otherwise we (or at least somebody) might get to see a Real Madrid-Khimki matchup featuring a ton of ex-Blazers (I count PK because he was on our Summer League team).
