An immediate freeze on firearm sales to people under 21 would be a fine short term solution to me.

Was searching for something else and found this. I still think it's a good idea. Hopefully would be permanent if it showed a decrease in homicides. I don't know if it would, but using prohibition with age HAS shown to be effective. Cigarettes, driving, alcohol..

Any details on why? Seems really weird for someone to kill 3/4ths of a family then themselves without a reason.

If it is just a random killing, God help us all.

Partially. But also, there is very little evidence that gun control has much impact on violent crime or intentional homicide rates.

They certainly can be. There are no protections to prevent such weaponization, as far as I am aware.

This is basically a plea that we make sure to institute these protections.

Also, to understand that gun control has historically been a tool to keep the poor and minorities in a vulnerable position.
