If i'm reading someones thoughts on a forum, i'm not gonna run away. That's the dumbest thing you could do. Reading everyone agreeing with every thought you have would be boring. And it would lead to confirmation bias. Which doesn't surprise me coming from the people telling others to ignore.

my point is muting the white noise is not running away or hiding from anything other than white noise....it's like dialing in a radio station. I like a good signal. Plenty of people I disagree with often I'd never put on ignore...mostly because they have a sense of humor..

It isn't white noise. I read it. And either respond or I don't. Creating ones own bubble of confirmation bias is a dangerous thing.

no,,,,it's not....you learn over a long lifetime to use your filters ....bubble confirmation bias I don't even understand....I do however make choices to allow myself to enjoy the day...if muting a heckler helps that it's a good thing...I think you're taking the use of it a little too seriously but totally support your right to read all Aldo's posts in game threads....don't let my practices dictate any behavior at all...freedom of choice is great..ignoring some asshole on the internet is not a character flaw...it's a choice

If a 14 year old goes out on a walk in the woods with his dad, you don't know what you will come up against. Bears. Coyotes. Mountain lions.

If a a mountain lion is coming at you, you surely are not going to have time to pull out your rifle and shoot it. That's what a pistol or shotgun or whatever is for.

Kids that go hunting go through a hunter safety course where they have to handle different guns. It has been more than 20 years since I have attended one, but I assume it is similar today. Probably even more stringent.

Im 71 and attended hunters safety when I was 12 at the Elks lodge.

you should become a mod...they have to do just that....reading opinions is fine...dealing with personal insults is beyond boring around this place...situation, problem, process, solution.....I like the solution option

I don't see why a kid should shoot an assault rifle at a target range. There should probably be an age limit to gun ranges.

A kid, a girl I think was shooting at a gun range with an assault rifle sometime back. She ended up shooting and killing her instructor because the gun was too much for her.

I saw another video. An experiment. A kid who loved to play video games with guns. They took him to a range and let him fire a real assault rifle. He pissed himself and broke down crying. It traumatized the shit out of him.

No kid should ever touch an assault rifle.

I'm fine with that. But kids need gun ranges for hunting so they get comfortable and make sure their scope is on point. You don't want a kid hunting without ever having shot their gun.

A kid shooting an assault rifle is stupid.

Maybe they need to go through hunter safety before getting into a gun range.

That makes sense. I can see shooting with smaller rifles made for hunting for kids.

But, we agree kids shooting ARs is stupid.

If a kid is going to ever touch a gun for hunting, yes they should definitely need to take that course as a prerequisite.

It's not legal to buy an assault rifle in the US without a . An AR15 isn't an assault rifle... It's an underpowered hunting rifle with a fashion sense.
