I'm not really sure what this tweet is showing, but just think of all the lives saved in the 1.5 - 2 seconds it took that kid to casually change the magazine
All the lives saved?

Just an observation regarding magazine capacity limits...

If a 5 year old can casually change magazines in 1-2 seconds a motivated adult could probably do it in half as long, no problem.
Bad Ass! Of course, most mass shootings are like 1-3 people carrying them out. So unless this kid is just prepping to be in the military, more than that, his training is making him be a very good mass shooter.
If not, why can't this good guy(kid) with a gun take out the bad guy without going to his 4th magazine? Maybe take some target practice?
Glorifying or promoting this sort of shit is pretty gross. But we live in a country that glorifies violence and degrades sexuality, so this is fine. Cool kid!

Gun training leads to fewer deaths. Not more.

We should be encouraging more training.

We could also try not glorifying guns and violence, god forbid.
Since when is training with a tool glorifying something? Particularly violence.

I'll certainly agree that the toxic gun culture is a problem (idiots not training, and just blowing shit up, hoping for a civil war, etc).

But I don't think that includes training. This video is simply showing a kid learning proper safety skills. It has nothing to do with violence.

No 6 year old needs to know or learn about how to handle a goddamn gun. Jesus. It’s like saying that 6 year old should get driving lessons because safe drivers are good for society.

What does a 5 year old need with hand gun training? What situations is a civilian going through 4 magazines shooting? Let alone a 5 year old. 6 Whatever. Glorifying it in showing your kid how to unload 30 or whatever shots quickly, taking a video, and posting it online. Is normal gun handling and training done in the living room, filmed for internet points?

Knowing how to handle a gun prevents accidents. My kids knew how to handle the .22 at that age, and they knew to respect it, and why to respect it.

Target practice, competitions, training... Could be self defense from cartel members, though you certainly hope not. But remember, the police will likely not be there to help you for 30 minutes to an hour if you're in trouble. And when they do finally get there they have no obligation to save you.

Glorifying a skill or training is a good thing, IMO.

And I don't think they were firing or dry firing at all. Just working on safely ejecting and loading a new magazine.

Sure, in a living room is fine if you've verified there is no live ammo, especially if you're pointing at a concrete wall, or if there is a stand of trees or embankment on the other side of the wall.

People clean their guns in their living rooms all the time.

US is looking at another all time record for mass shootings in a year. We are the best!

Haven’t visited this thread in awhile. It was literally making me nauseous. Do people still think guns are good?

Guns aren't any more good or bad than any other tool.

Are knives bad? Are cars bad? Cars undoubtedly kill far more people than guns. And not by accident or misuse. They are designed to poison the air we breathe.

Emissions alone kill 53,000 Americans per year. Traffic accidents kill over 30,000 Americans per year and vehicle fires result in roughly 500 American deaths per year...

Not to mention building our cities to cater to cars makes them less liveable and our population far less healthy.

And they are used to ram into crowds of people over 100 times per year in the US alone. Resulting in incredible suffering and terrifying death...

Tools aren't good or bad.

My Vietnamese friend said the Monterey park shooter married a Chinese lady who used him to get to America. She went out dancing and he got all psycho jealous and followed her to go on the rampage. At least that's the version going around
