I think Chamberlain today would be a bit like a Shaq who could move better on defense.

I agree, which is why I think he'd be a more athletic defender. Comparing him to Shaq was in terms of the offensive dominance, not the specific style of play.
In terms of style of play, today he might have developed into a David Robinson type player--another phenomenal athlete who was a fabulous and incredible defender and could both post up as well as face up.
Really, Shaq had all the tools and size to be the greatest ever... just never had the drive. He coasted through the NBA and has even said so in so many words. Too bad.
The early pro start helps explain the number of women he slept with.
