Watching River Avenue Blues this AM for Post Game Video there was a clip from Steinbrenner at the owners meetings. He stated that it was felt that the team had no glaring needs and he was not going to "rent" a player for 3 months. He than went on to state that his team was in a "slump" that would eventually end. That's from the owner kids. I can see no rentals but a second tier pitcher would have been nice, or Refsnyder staying. So fellow fans it looks like the NY on the players hats stands for next year.

I've said for a while now they will do nothing until the bad contracts are gone. Unfortunately, Headley is also a bad one they added and Ellsbury could turn out to be a disaster as well.

...the same thing was thought last year but they did make some additions anyway.

...I'm sorry, but this is the Yanx, not the A's...the Yanx have the money and they have prospects...standing pat was a bad move.

Especially since I think next year will be a step back.

Yankees swept by Texas, Oakland, drop 2/3 to Philadelphia, on the verge of being swept by Cleveland. Big time losses from teams they should have took series from. No balls in dealing with CC, how many games lost on that decision. Next year A-hole, Bump, and CC will be another year older, occupying roster spots, drawing huge salaries under false pretenses.

I look forward to the kids coming up and hopefully we get some good ones out of the prospect bunch. I have come to realize that for the first time ever I don't have a favorite player on this team.

...I've been that way since Jeter retired...hard for me to really connect with the current franchise.

It's kind of sad to me. You're right in that Jeter retiring really ended an era. I welcome the kids coming in.

If I picked a "favorite" It would probably be McCann. I do think there are some legit kids out there, liked Severinos first two starts, kid showed some real poise out there.

Haven't had a real crop of prospects to look forward to since I don't know when. Of course they will not all work out but hopefully we have some solid major league players in the mix.

In other words pasta was right, again!

...if you say so, and if it helps you to feel better about yourself, and if it helps to chase those voices in your head away, I'm happy for you.

I've got a bad feeling that we'll eventually be adding Tanaka to that list. On this one, I really hope I'm wrong.

every single player is gonna be scrutinzed by you guys until you finally figure out it was bazzinni all along.....

bazzinni = #28

You're right as usual. Ellsbury hasn't hit in over a month because of the manager. Makes perfect sense.

That's a great point, it is like rooting for Jerry Kenney.
