<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">HOUSTON - I grew up in Phoenix and remember attending the All-Star Game 10 years ago when Charles Barkley wore knee-high socks and all these great players were on the floor at the same time.
As you're watching that game you dream about being a part of it, but you never think for a minute that you'll make it this far. Now that I'm here at All-Star Weekend it gives me extra motivation and puts a fire in my heart to make me want to work even harder.
The whole experience is kind of crazy. My parents were here and they were eating it all up. They were talking to parents of other players and they heard from a lot of people that I have a great future in the league.
On Friday, I was walking through the hotel lobby saying what's up to LeBron, Kobe, Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett. A lot of guys told me that they love to watch me play. Sometimes you have to take a step back and realize you're suddenly playing against the guys you grew up watching.
It was a great experience to play in the rookie-sophomore game. I went out, had some fun, shot a couple of threes and ran the court. I had Nate Robinson with me and it was a thrill to go against Andre Iguodala, my friend from Arizona.
There were a lot of guys here from Arizona: Andre, Jason Terry and Gilbert Arenas. We owe a lot to coach Lute Olson for building a great program. You look at Andre and you see a player who has improved by leaps and bounds. Last year, he was trying to learn the league and figure out how he could best help the Sixers.
I'm in the same situation now with the Knicks. I'm trying to figure out a niche as well as what I can do to help the team on a consistent basis. There are 30 games left in our season and I think we're going to have a strong finish. I believe we're going to start playing our best basketball.
I got to go home for a couple of days and see some friends. My only focus is to come back to New York with fresh legs and a fresh attitude. The whole weekend has shown me that no matter what happens, you have to keep striving to be the best you can be. That's why the guys who were here are All-Stars.

It's definitely a good sign when Kobe, LeBron, and Garnett say you have a good future in the league. I don't see Frye ever being on the same level as Kobe and the rest of them, but I do know if he continues to work hard he'll be a solid player for us for years to come. That's one thing you have to like about Frye. He never stops working. Good find, Isiah.
