What a piece of shit country it has become. I love England's history, it's landscape, and it's brought the world a lot of innovation. It was the starting point of the industrial revolution, and is the home of many of the greatest scientists who ever lived.
But now it's rotten. They're arresting people for thought crimes, tweets, even just for re-tweeting something. And we're not talking about open threats of violence. Take this example. A UK man responded to a fb post that he felt was a display of police brutality, and he simply replied "Filthy bastards" and is getting a 12 week prison sentence. People get less time for actual violence.
And it's not a small number, it's been over 4,000 so far.
The view on this is the source of a massive schism between what we call the "left" and the "right", in America, as many leftist politicians are in favor of having this kind of society. And I know many of you will defend this in the comments.
I find it to be absolutely unacceptable. This is why it's important that a population not give up its right to bear arms, because when the social contract between the citizens and government can be breeched to such a degree, as to render it void.
