Fuck LeBron and Fuck

If anything, this seems to suggest that his ego is less than people thought. Everybody (me included) assumed he wouldn't come to Miami because it's Wade's team, and Wade already has a title there. Yet he came. Even if they win a bunch of titles, Wade will have one more.

You're right, I did not think he would take less money.

What would make people happy?

If Miami signed me for the max instead of LeBron, that would make me happy.

If this was all set up by devious trading instead of three players actually getting to choose where they go? Any Miami hatred is just envy. Unless you already hate the players for being tools.

I sort of like Bosh. I feel neutral about Wade, and I dislike LeBron quite a bit.
I wasn't a big fan of Payton and Malone going to the Lakers, despite it getting me the supermodels, and I'm not a big fan of this attempt to stack the deck either. It's like choosing sides on the playground, except one team gets the first three choices. Where's the fun in that? Is a dogfight between a rottweiler and a toy poodle good entertainment?

barfo

Hardly. Almost all championships are won by more than one top player. And despite the furor by some fans now, in 20 years no one is going to care that he "needed" Wade or Bosh. Fans then will say, "He has the greatest stats of all-time and won 10 NBA championships. greatest playr evar."

Love you. :O

The Heat just became the most hated franchise in the NBA outside Miami and the bandwagoners. And LeBron is front and center as public enemy No. 1.

The image of his Cavs jersey being burned was great!

No, it was not great! I feel bad for Cav fans...but not nearly as bad as I feel for Seattle Supersonic fans.

Lebron did nothing wrong whatsoever. He never complained while a Cav. He was fantastic as a Cav. And he fulfilled his contractual obligations, never once threatening or asking to be traded while under contract.

This is "sports" after all.

And burning his uniform is immature and ridiculous on the part of fans.....and we are reminded that the term "fan" is simply short for "fanatic."

Of course, he had the right to choose his team and sign with whatever team.

But the whole one-hour special, LeBron talking about himself in third person, the ego, everything -- it rubs people the wrong way. He thinks he's bigger than the game, and he hasn't won anything yet. And I'm sure a lot of people are frowning upon that.

Every league has that one team that people love to hate -- the Yankees, Cowboys, and now I expect the Heat to take that role in the NBA.

The burning of the uniform.. hey, they can do what they want as well. Cleveland fans have been put through so much agony in sports, and this is possibly the biggest blow ever. They basically have to start all over, they might not even make the playoffs next year and they won't contend for a championship for a LONG, LONG time. I'd be pissed as well.

It's just going to be all the sweeter when we beat them for the title.

We did it once, team against super stars, the team won. History will repeat!

Those teams, though, have a generational hatred built up. They're perceived as either having an institutional advantage through the years (Yankees) or simply a continuous arrogance (Cowboys). In the NBA, it would probably be the Lakers who fill that role. The Heat will probably be polarizing, like the Jordan/Pippen Bulls were, or the Rice/Montana/Young 49ers were...a massive number of fans and haters, both of which will drastically diminish once the stars are gone.

Maybe I'm the only one, but I'm really not that worked up about all this. I think it's kind of cool that the three top free agents went to one location. Fuck the Knicks and fuck New Jersey. They didn't get shit out of this and I think it's hilarious. What they got was a power forward who has a history of knee problems and eye problems. Should be a good future if you're a Knicks fan haha.

I'm glad the Bulls didn't get him. I feel sorry for Cleveland, but honestly I really don't care. As long as he doesn't go the Lakers... that's the only thing that would have pissed me off.

Wait, I thought I was the only one. How dare you also be the only one.

We can be the only one together!

So you don't mind our title chances looking much slimmer? Of course, nothing is set in stone, we could still win it all, of course it is all irrelevant if Oden doesn't become what we think he can be or injuries just take him over, however, this as well does not help the cause.

The way I see it is that either Oden stays healthy and fulfills his promise...in which case, there could be some classic Portland-Miami battles for titles. Or else, Oden either doesn't stay healthy or doesn't fulfill his promise...in which case, Portland wasn't winning the title even if James, Wade and Bosh didn't exist in this universe.

Sure, I guess this somewhat reduces Portland's chances for a title, but I'll wait for them to deny Portland a title before I start resenting them.

I'm not sure that Miami is the "sure thing" that so many people make them out to be. Sure, on paper they sound amazing, but "on paper" doesn't always work out. Ask Dallas, or Bob Whitsitt. We've seen some pretty amazing teams with stacked rosters from 1 to 12. It doesn't always work out like it's planned. I think there's a chance that one of the big three will be traded in the next three or four years. I'm not saying it's a good chance, but I think there's a chance that one of those three players will not be happy with how things are going, especially if they don't start dominating almost immediately.

You know fuck Lebron James....to leave CLE is one thing...to protract this out...and then to top it off by having a self serving 1hr special on ESPN to basically stab every fan in CLE in the fuckin heart is the move of a complete and utter douchebag......

Congratulations Lebron, you just became the biggest villian in the entire NBA....I hope that son of a bitch gets boo'd in every fucking arena, I know I will......

I find it ironic that Lebron actually thinks he is helping his legacy when he basically fucking torched it tonight......

A memo to you Lebron...."franchise" players? They take thier city\orginizations to the pinnacle of NBA greatness, they don't leave them in smoking ruins....

His legacy is forever tarnished...as a human being 1st and foremost...and 2nd by the simple fact that he just showed tonight that he isn't good enough to take a franchise to an NBA title by himself....no matter what he accomplishes from now on he will always have that asterisk...and it will be well deserved.....

I hope for nothing but misery on James and that whole piece of shit MIA team.....

Am I the only one who thought that was hilarious?

I mean, can't anyone else see the beauty in breaking the dial on obnoxiousness? That was a work of art.

The only thing that might have topped it is if he had done the announcement from the White House, with Obama at his side, both wearing a Miami Heat hat.

"It's not about him leaving," Gilbert said. "It's the disrespect. It's time for people to hold these athletes accountable for their actions. Is this the way you raise your children? I've been holding this all in for a long time."

This hits the nail on the head for me....I mean what kind of asshole does this? What does it say about you as a human being? That you are a piece of shit? I think so....

I don't begrudge him for leaving....although I think it was the coward's\quitter's way out..... as much as for the way he did it...totally classless...

The irony though is I doubt that Lebron or his posse see it this way...they are all probably wondering what the big deal is.....That is how sad his behavior was tonight....He will NEVER be held in the same esteem as Jordan, Bird or Magic no matter what he does\accomplishes from this point on.....

He probably doesn't even recognize what he did to his "legacy" tonight....that is how much of a stupid motherfucker he is....

Repped. (And I think you're the first one, I just figured it out)

At the same time, what is killer instinct then? Because I would certainly back stab any owner, player, and GM if it meant I got my hands on titles and Finals MVPs. If the NBA allows it I support that kind of behavior. I would do whatever possible to win a championship. He has the right to leave and win as the #1 guy wherever he goes which is what he is still doing.

Sure it was obnoxious, that's another story.

Yeah, you're right. Probably wrong teams to compare them to in that regard, but in the end, the Heat will still take on that role as the team other fans will love to hate. Every night on the road, opposing fans will react like a win over Miami will be like knocking off the defending champs. Same idea with teams that fans will love to hate, just wrong initial comparison I guess.

Another spot on analysis by Brandon Jennings of all people....

From Brandon Jennings: "Never run away from your problems, man up. If it was easy we all would have a ring, Lebron did what he had to do I guess, should have been more low-key about it. He just affected alot of ppl in Cleveland, I don't think he know how much the ppl in Cleveland loved him, it more then basketball to them I think.... Remember the great ones always stuck it out through the hard times. "Kobe" "MJ".."

Meanwhile, Kobe probably took 10,000 jumpshots today, while Wade and his lapdogs are out partyin in South Beach. I just hope OUR big 3 is followin Kobe's lead, and not lebrons.

I know its unpopular to speak positively about Kobe on this board but he has the work ethic of a champion, and you can't deny that. No twitter, no 1 hour specials, just rings.

That being said, Go Blazers! Greg Oden this would be an excellent year for you to stay healthy. We got this.

Do you really think this is at all likely? At 3 seconds a jumpshot, that's 8 hours and 20 minutes of shooting jumpshots.

I find that exceedingly unlikely.

Ed O.

Kobe shoots two at a time. ;)

Why, in fact, yes, Ed O.

I do find this exceedingly unlikely. My most sincere apologies.

Kobe probably doesn't work overtime in the offseason.

As an alternative, I'd like to offer that Kobe probably only took 9600 jumpshots today, while Wade and his lapdogs were out partying in Miami, Florida.

The whole lebron spectacle could have not worked out any better. I am so happy that now the entire world sees him for what he is. the most disrespectful, arrogant player to ever play in the league. This whole "decision" was handled so poorly that it makes the things that went on with the blazers look like a PR persons dream. thanks lebron, you provided me one night of happiness.......

You do know that LeBron actually used Kobe's phrase "I'm taking my talents to..."? I hope that was an intentional dig.

You know who the real villain in this piece is? Chris Bosh. If reports are to be believed, James recruited him to Cleveland, and both Cleveland and Toronto were on board. But the fucker preferred Miami to Ohio.
