Fuck School Group Projects Part II !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Welcome to our community

Be a part of something great, join today!

real world scenario would be to outsource the work to someone else, then proofread it. woot.

either that or go to your boss (teacher) and tell him/her that this isn't working out and the project isn't going to get done. co-workers get canned, woot.

3 weeks and not one response to any of my multiple emails.
For two weeks there was no class and this last week none of them have shown up.
We have another part due Monday...I have 4 midterms next week

Fuck these asshole lazy bastards

throw them under the bus. Do the whole project, turn it in, only put your name on the project OR put "(non-contributing member)" after their name.

I could do that to 2 of them but the other guy is supposed to graduate at the end of the semester....

checked my email and still no responses...the class is in a couple hours, anybody who is a no show is getting thrown under said bus

who gives a fuck if he is supposed to graduate. fuck him, throw him under the fucking bus. At least bold your name at the top and then have their names in smaller fonts, unbolded down under you.

I have 4 midterms next week and another part of this project due on Tuesday, I really cant afford the time of doing it all myself. I also still have a perfect score in this class, they need it more than me.

lol...Im too nice, I always put them in alphabetical order....Im 3rd down our list :(

Fuck that. If you're turning it in and doing all the work, your name goes on top, bolded and they are in a reduced font (do comic sans in memory of Dan Gilbert haha)

gotta grow them balls up.

Group projects are sometimes great tools to help you acclimate to the real world, where most projects are done within a team. But they suck when your peers don't give a shit.

Essentially every project/assignment we've done so far in grad school has had the option of being a group project, but I learn more (especially math/programming) when I work by myself.

I say just ditch your group, and try to find someone else. If not, do it yourself, and tell your prof. There is no guilt or shame in fucking over you group mates if they fuck you over.

Today, in 4 hours, I have a 15 min group presentation in front of the class....

a group member just told me via text she wouldnt be showing up today because there was a bust of a meth lab on one of her families rental properties....good times

Take a shot of tequila before going up there. I did that, it helped whenever I had to do a big lecture.

What kind of program are you in where they force you to do this many group projects? I had quite a few when getting my MBA, but my undergraduate and other graduate degrees were mostly solitary. My advice is to avoid classes with group projects or if you have to take them, just do the work yourself and accept the freeriders.

For the record, your classmate is fucked. The house will be unrentable until it's either gutted or torn down and rebuilt. Oh, and insurance won't cover it.

As an owner of rental properties, "meth lab" are two of the scariest words a landlord can ever hear.

General Business degree...the Cal State system thinks this is the way to go evidently....80% of my classes have had some sort of group project

Throw her under the bus. Specifically mention that she was unable to attend today at the beginning of the presentation.

Gotcha. I have no idea why business programs are so focused on group projects, but that seems to be the way it is. Here's my advice: Find a group of people you can work with and trust, and make sure you all take the same classes. If you can pick your groups, always get in with them. If you can't and you end up in different groups, then talk to them about your individual progress and use their contribution behind the scenes if one of your teammates let you down.

Same thing happened to be in a class a couple of months ago (chick couldn't come to class because of an anxiety attack), for a 30-minute presentation (5 people). Her "slides" had 3 bullet points each, and no information, and she hadn't given us any of her source docs. I basically had 1 hour to completely redo her section and slides.

Best part was that the group before ours took nearly 90 minutes to do their 30-minute presentation, giving us about 25 minutes for ours, and the first two people in my group took 15 of that. I had to speed through 10 minutes of content in about 3 to give the last girl enough time to present and close.

Yeah, I'm not a big fan of group stuff either.
