Fundraiser for mgb surgery

Currently selling my tickets to tonights game to some people in Newberg. I'll let you know when I get the money how much I'll be able to donate. I'll probably be selling tickets to a few other games as well coming up, as it had been something I was planning on doing anyway. No better cause than this, especially if I "claim" to be Christian on the OT board. Hope we're able to keep raising money!

Thanks.

Have not been able to get to the hospital to see Mike in a few days, but he had said they were supposed to move him to a different facility. He was having keyboard issues on his laptop and guess his wife would call if there was anything serious going on. Hopfully I hear from them soon to find out how much everything will be.

Just got off the phone with Mike's wife. She said to thank everyone for the encouragement as it has really helped Mike. He still faces a pretty daunting challenge, but it is easier knowing that there are people willing to help him.

Currently, he is being prepped to leave for a recovery facility to lose the weight the insurance company requires before becoming a candidate. Once that happens, we can get a price of what they will pay and what Mike's family will be responsible for. Without knowing even a ballpark figure, I do not want to actively solicite funds. As of now the donation total is $750 and will be placed in an account to be used later. I will accept donations though and will keep everyone posted on any changes to this situation.

Thanks again to everyone as I think it will be an even greater day to be a Blazer once we get one of our veteran fans back out to the Rose Garden.

WOW good job guys! A total inspiration!

Talked to Mike today and he had a setback. He is currently in the ICU, but still plans on going to the rehabilitation center soon. He just wanted to tell everyone hello and hopes that he can be back on the board shortly.

Hey guys. Just type a lot and lost it all':(

Great to know so many people feel for you.

Can't type it all again, but the Blazers give me a lift and havn't done therer part' low battery.

Good luck mgb. It must be very hard to lose weight when you are immobilized.

Just got back from the convelescent care Mike is at. Still a mountain to climb, but he is still making progress and seemed happier. No definite word on what he needs to do or pay for the surgery, but he is doing what he can in order to be a candidate.

I made it out to see MGB also. I tried to help him get his computer going but we think his monitor is bad. So, if anyone has a monitor he can have or borrow he would appreciate it.

I have two excellent tickets for tomorrow night's game vs. Atlanta. Unfortunately, I won't be able to go, as I hurt my back pretty badly at work earlier this week... and, needless to say, I won't quite be able to sit in one of those arena seats for approximately three hours.

Anyways, before going any other route to sell the tickets, I figured I'd check here. That way, not only will the tickets not go unused, but I can also donate some cash to MGB's cause as well.

The tickets are for: Section 113, Row L, Seats 7 & 8. They have a "face value" of $170 each (and, no, I'm not expecting to get quite that much for them).

Thanks!

Crap, where's he at? I have a 22" lcd I'm not using! It's not the best, but it certainly works. If somebody that knows Michael, personally, wanted to swing by my house (near 52nd and Flavel) and pick it up, I'd be MORE than happy to kick-it-down!

:twothumbs:

Thanks, but I got a new monitor. Turn out the puter was bad so my wife returned it to costco and I ordered it again online and this one worked fine.

Thanks again!

Has anyone heard from MGB lately? I have sent him e-mails and not gotten any response. I sure hope he is hanging in there.

I'm ok. I meant to respond to your email, but I got interrupted. That happens a lot here. Then I spaced it.

I want to meet MGB because I want to personally deliver the $500. Hopefully, I can contact him...

Just visited MGB. Really nice guy, wish him nothing but the best. Glad to know us Blazer fans stick together.

Good to hear you got out to see him. Still a huge hill to climb, but easier when others are there for support.

That's awesome Mags! He is really a good guy and a die hard Blazer fan! Thanks for getting out there to see him. What was his reaction to the money you have raised for him?

I wasn't really looking for a reaction. Just trying to help a friend. But he was very thankful.

Mags I found the link to that BBQ I was telling you about with the pic of when Roy came over and sat down next to me.

Read through that thread. Brought back a lot of memories. Didn't realize it was way back in 2006. I remember doing a search on this site a while back looking for the thread, no wonder I couldn't find it since it was on a different site.

This is another STH bbq back in 2010.

Today during therapy I stood 3 times, once for 10 secs and once for 15 secs. The third time I really struggled to stand up and didn't last as long. This doesn't sound like much, but it's the first time I've stood up since I fell a year ago last Jan.

That's really great news!

Keep up the good work, MGB!!!
