Yeah I know we've had this before, but we got new people and some people may have changed their minds.Im still going for the History Professer thing, im already looking into maybe a internship at night with U of M, but I dont know if ill have time.

I'm basically screwed, im a junior in HS and I got no idea what I wanna do, nothin really appeals to me

I really don't know what to do now. I wanna do something with investigating crimes and sh*t. I have no clue, or maybe something to do with sports.

I like writing music but I could never do that, im decent in the writing part of english class, so maybe a sports journalist or somethin like that

We just had our career day project.. and I did mine on Pharmacists. I kind of wanna be one, but still can't decide between that, or something along the roads of computer art/graphics

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>I'm basically screwed, im a junior in HS and I got no idea what I wanna do, nothin really appeals to me</div>I would say your in the same boat as a lot of students actually. You could always go undecided in college and just see what interests you by taking different classes.Right now, I'm still going towards my Psych and Writing majors. Ditched Comp Sci, don't know if I replied in the other thread about Comp. Hate programming, even though I am helping towards developing this one site for a Sports Bar game around here called Quarterback Draw Football. But nothing I want to do as career, so I went with the major switch.

I'd love to be an NBA General Manager. But I would also like to be a college coach or an NBA scout. I'd enjoy being a college coach because of the recruiting process. I know for lots of people that sounds like the worst part but I think it would be a lot of fun.If I didn't want to do something sports related I'd want to be an architect. I'm only 14 though, so it could change.

I really have no idea in what career I want to aim at right now but one of my goals it become a proffesional basketball player, right and I really don't think it's that hard to get there if you know what your doing and I know what im doing

I'm going to Bryant, which is a great business school, so I'm 99% sure I'll do something in business. The only thing I'd change to is sports writing, but that's a long shot.

I am going to Mars Hill College right now, hoping to become a high school physical education teacher. I am also hoping to become the basketball, and baseball coach, as well as the athletic director when I get older. I have always enjoyed teaching and being around sports, and I hope to make a difference on someones life through sports and physical education.

Looking to get a degree in Marketing when I switch to OU next fall. I took like 6 marketing classes in high school, 4 included sports marketing, & took one last semester in college. I want to be in the marketing department for a NBA or NFL team. I'd prefer NFL over NBA by far. It's more of a mass market sport, more money involved. NFL fans are way more into it, they buy sh*t, etc. Photography is also an option. Weddings, magazines, sport events, etc

</div>^^ LMAOI dunno I always thought of being a coach one day or an assistant coach for the NBA or NCaa if not a high school coach, teacher, cop. Either that or like be atleast a D-League player in the NBA.I have like 8 more years to decide

First and foremost I'll try for a scholarship in baseball and try to make it into the minors/pros.But since that's a long shot, I've always wanted to be a chef. I'm an awesome cooker and love food. What more do I need?

Scholarship in baseball would be my dream.. than I'd love to be a coach in basketball or baseball..

a drug dealer.... what else is therea gaestroentologist? ppfft

I don't really know what career I want to do, I know its going to be in the feild of History since I already have a degree in History. I just don't know if I want to teach, write, or do research. I might try each of the three for a time, I really don't know. I do know one thing however, my career will not be loading boxes into the back of trucks.

Do you think teaching is worth it? I know for research you have to travel alot which I dont want to do really..atleast right now. Or should I try and go into another History field.

Teaching in the public education system is medium pay in most states($33,000+). teaching at a college or university can pay upwards of $110,000, but that takes a lot of schooling. I actually would love to travel, I want to see the world. I'd love to spend time in Italy investigating stuff about the Roman empire. What feilds are you studying right now?

well, im a sophomore so right now we're studying the absolute most boring history ever...the 2nd industrial revolution. On my own time though, im reading alot of the Roman Empire and its transition to the Middle Ages. Like you, im intrested in the Roman Republic and Empire as well how it built from Greece. So im not "studying" much of anything really, just reading up on stuff.

Yeah I find that era, as well as the rise of Greece, to be facinating. I also like some of the darker parts of history, such as the plagues, barbarians, genocide, and people who are really F*cked up but are never talked about.

I'm planning on my first official job out of high school to be a Air Transport Ramp Attendant... the guys driving those cars with baggage and sh*t. YEUH.And for my official career, I'll probably be some bunk Engineer or something.

lol Yeah, did you watch the Dark Ages in the History Channel? It was pretty good. Im actually the opposite, I like to study the Roman Empires golden age, and really about Europe starting around 1500 with the Renaissance. I also love the Egyptian Dynasties, and I love it when it and Rome are connected.btw, do you watch Rome on HBO? Its not that correct on alotve things, but it makes it more enteraining.

Yeah I seen that show on the history channel, though I was hoping they'd go into other people such as the early Saxons, Lombards and Gepids and didn't focus on the Byzantines so much. I really don't concider the Byzantines to be part of the dark ages because they lived so high above the standards for what we concider to be the dark ages. though I did learn a lot about Justinian. I do like Egypt, but I'm not really all that into it. My favorite periods of history are; The Macidonian conquest, All of the roman empire, from early city state to universal empire, to the fall; The time right before the renaissance, and the history of the Western US. I also like seeing how I can connect historical figures to other historical figures, places ect. I've never seen Rome, I don't have HBO unfortinatly.

ah okay, go to www.yourtvlinks.com if you ever wanna check it out.Yeah they skimmed through it, but it was a nice overview....it helped me cause ive only read the basic stuff on the Dark Ages.

Yeah for some reason the dark ages just isn't covered a lot, especially not in public school. when I was in high school we spent like a week on the time from the fall of Rome to the Renaissance. thats a 1000 years, a very important 1000 years in Western civilization.
