It's actually a good idea to start thinking about this early from what I think.| The Economy is changing like a bi*ch due to this constant inflation.|What are your future financial goals? You don't gotta get too thorough about it just what do u expect or if confident enought what will you make happen for yourself financially in the future?Or are you there now?-Investing/savings plans ie. Ira accounts, Bonds stocks, Housing, etc.-Not care for money and just cruise through life-Freeloading (Its a good thing in some cases) but when you hurt others its pretty selfish-Live with parents and help support them as well as yourselves due to certain physical problems such as sickness in your family. ie. Retardation, lack of family wealth- Be a homeless nig with funny signs.-Receive money and Give as much as possible to othersTheres more but what r yall goals, seriously or humorously.| Those funny homeless people, some are very visually deceiving.|

Well, I already have an account with ING Direct. Which is actually, from what an expert told me, is the best place to make an account due to no bank fees and you get 6% interest, which is great.

6% monthly or yearly? what kind of account also a savings or Money market?

I have a few K in the bank that I've been saving a long time. Most of my money goes toward paying expenses and I rarely get a chance to save money anymore but once I finish my apprenticeship ill start saving alot more money.

I'll be investing some money. Taking the business class in my freshman year really got me interested. With everything becoming more and more expensive my goal is to have a six-figure salary by my late 20's-early 30's. I want to be able to buy myself a house. I want to live as comfortably as my cousin's do( chriopractors, own 4 offices in AZ). I just have to find a way to do it. I'm not going to stress myself over it too much though. If I find a job that pays less money, but I really enjoy it, then I'll be happy. For now I'll just build up my savings and hope to survive through college with what I have starting in a couple years.

At least not for Freshman.

I got a little over 3k in the bank and increasing as I now work, and I put a lot more money that I have "laying around" in the bank. I got money for my b-day from everyone and about 60% of it is going in the bank.So my goals areUse that money to buy a car when I get home for summer after my freshman year of college.Use saving bonds from relatives that I have stacking up to buy an essential when I get out on my own after college.I plan on living apt. style for the first couple years living cheap. Eating lots of cheap foods and maybe only having basic cable to save money. It is a price to pay, but I feel at this point it would pay off in the future instead of being one of those people who buys the best cable and internet right out of college.

It doesn't have any branches, you can deposit money with them on the phone, or send it through the mail to the address they give you. It's completely safe, I've deposited and withdrawn money with them for over a year now.

I got his info to use him as one of my references for my first job. :happy0144: I'm going to try to find a job in about a month. Hmmm, I'm kind of excited about making my own money, but after that horribly dull 10 hours of community service at the Y...I don't know.

lol Yeah I just noticed that.| I do online banking with WAMU most of the time.|

I just think it's funny how so many kids these days think they will be making big money, 6-figures...

If you are doing good in school, work hard, get breaks. It can happen. I know I must sound like a professor right now.

Right now I just want to save enough money to buy a car and to help pay for college. After that, I want to find a job that will pay me just enough to have a nice house and live comfortably. I don't care about 6-7 figures; all of that money will make you forget your roots. All of the money in the world can't make me happy now or later on.

My dad makes 6 figures. Not that far off from 5 figures and he has the most pride in where he came from than most. With prices going up it's going to take getting around 6 figures to live comfortably... or else have a wife that works and gets a nice salary too.

I probably won't make a ton of money when I get older. I'm going to be teaching. It's something that I'll enjoy doing, so that is what is really important. I'll have some debt that'll take a while to get rid of, but whatever. Right now, I don't have a ton of money. I'm just making it by.

The neighborhood aint the greatest but they did good investing in housing as well as smart financial decisions.| But then again, the economy has changed and they bought this brownstone at about 120,000. It is worth near 700,000 now in 10 years.| Lol and my mom hates guidance counseling from how she reacts.| The benefits are wassup tho.| Too be like my parents.... sh*t I got some work to do.| Brownstones go for near a mil nowadays, and I want my Black WRX.|I wanna be better than my parents too so I can help them too get better as well.| As for me tho, I am getting into stocks and learning more about investing now from what I already know.| My savings account is only about 3G's.| When I graduate next year I got loans to pay off for college which aint much cause its a city school.| I aint paying over 10G's to learn design.| Maybe for masters if I feel like throwin my money there.|

I don't see myself having a ton of money, but I will be comfortable. I will be making good profits from buying and re-selling cars, along with my normal job. I handle my money pretty well, I don't see a problem.

Yeah, the house prices are what I'm talking about. My cousin has a house and it's nice, but so small you don't really have much room at all and it probably cost as much as your parents bought their house for. 92K is pretty good money. I'll try to learn more about investing because that could really help out, like they land my uncle and dad bought a while ago...it'll get them A LOT of money for retirement.

Yeah, it's so hilarious that some people want to do something good with their lives.

I didn't say right out of college either. I said within 10 years. That's my goal...you have to set it fairly high or else you won't get anywhere.

Not to sure. All I know is I want atleast one nice car(think along the lines of a 7 seris) and a nice condo or town house.

well I have been working hard for a few years, but only in the last 18 months have I started to work in the feild I want. In that time my salary has gone from 31k ---> 44k---> 50k and it looks like my role will be expanding so I will be making more up to 58k. Not bad progression for 18months. What I want to do is invest in realestate- the hard part is getting that first house! Once I have that the Idea is to pay it off as fast as possible (paying an extra $50 a week can make a massive difference on the life of a loan ((like 15 years)) Then once I have some equity in the first house loan against that one to buy a second- and rent it out to hlpe pay for it and so on. I am very cconfident that in the next 5 years I will be making 6 figures. (or 90k+ U.S$) At that stage my children will be starting school and my wife can go back to work where she will make approx 50k (to start). I have planned the next 5 years and the next 10 years worth of goals. Thats the importnat thing setting goals and attacking them!

Eh, going to school for my business degree right now, should get a nice job out of college if I decide to get a job in business after I graduate. Right now I'm working and taking classes to get my real estate license.Right now I have about $2,000 in one of my bank accounts, and about $44,000 in my other (split between checking and savings). Been working since I was about 14 or 15 doing different things... so that's why I got so much sh*t saved up. I'm not paying for college, so that's why I still have most of it. Thank God for grants and scholarships! :lol:Too bad I'm losing about $30,000 of that though because I'm putting part of it as down payment on a new car for my mom (birthday present) and whatever I don't put down of that $30K will go as down payment or closing costs for her new house.

I'm up to 36K saved. Want to have double that by December somehow.I want to buy a house within the next year at around 70K in one of the soso neighborhoods. When I say BUY a house I mean BUY a house..as in here's 70K the house is paid off...I'm not payin rent every month. Really don't care about the neighborhood as long as I have space from dumb neighbors and room in the house to make it pretty cool. Lookin at Redford and Westland for people in the area. I'm a build a big fence in the back yard. Get a big hot tub and gazebo..and then I'll be comin to BBW from there instead of.

Man...try moving out here to Los Angeles or to New York. You will be lucky to find any decent house to pay for under 500K at least. I'm talking a one story house in an ok neighborhood.

It's all about location.
