What's the story ?

Here's the story,
Of a lovely lady,
Who was bringing up three very lovely girls.
All of them had hair of gold,
Like their mother,
The youngest one in curls.

Here's the story,
Of a man named Brady,
Who was busy with three boys of his own.
They were four men,
Living all together, but they were all alone.

Till the one day when the lady met this fellow,
and they knew they was much more than a hunch.
That this group,
Must somehow form a family.
That's the way we all became the Brady Bunch,
The Brady Bunch, the Brady Bunch
That's the way we became the Brady Bunch.

Dude, I've been recording all Brady Bunch episodes on insp and am watching about 2 a night. Relaxes me.

Chris Haynes:

*Danny Ainge is a guy they are waiting for. Will wait for the season to end to ask permission. This is his hunch.
*They'll hire a coach (Mike Malone?) if they think they could lose him as a candidate to another team.

*More Steve Nash hypotheticals yada yada yada yada
*'Tone not completely sold on Jeremy Lin but he's pretty close to.
*Best rout: package picks for an established player. <---'Tone disagrees

Can't wait for the packaging of two lottery picks for an established slightly above average player

That'll be next year, right MM??

Since you and I have both been saying no way the Nets don't keep the pick. Can't trade two lotto picks when you only have one.

I think we will trade both picks. Whichever year Brooklyn's pick is, we will deal it this for someone like Iggy, along with our pick

That's what worries me -- Chad and Co. will make the stupid decision, something they're really good at, and package picks for a nearly 30 year-old Granger, Iggy, etc.

They brought Haynes on the show and he pretty much had nothing to add. Kind of a waste of time.

He almost as useless as Joe Freeman.

He provided more than anyone else there.

He's talked to a few "sources" about Danny Ainge and the Blazers interest. That's a nice nugget of info. Better than Rice's Steve Nash what-ifs.

Damn homie......... do you have a positive outlook on anything in life?

Well I must admit that trade scenario with IGGY has crossed my mine a few times in the past month. Iggy, Batum, LMA gives us 3 long players at 3 important positions. I understand that we would need a PG who could make up for the lack of outside shooting, but that lineup intrigues me. Maybe with Freeland. Iggy is a pretty good passer too. His jump shot is just too eratic.

But I also agree with you in grabbing Marshall. (I think it is you) They are all gambles but I think he will be a good one.

Factor in what we're going to have to pay Batum, Iggy's contract and age -- that's not the direction we need to go into.

Iggy is not a #1, he's a borderline #2 (like LMA).

We have no young talent on this roster. We really need to build with an eye on the future (3-4 years down the road)

A team with Iggy, Batum and LA is a title contender?

really?

That is laughable....

I assume your talking about Pinwheel1 post because no one else has really talked about Iggy on the team in a good way. If so, way to completely take what he said and put a nice little spin on it to make it sound ridiculous. It was never said that would make us a contender but having those three all on the same team is a start and then filling in the rest is damn intriguing. For one thing I can't see us using both picks for iggy, one should do it since they were actively looking to move him for a prospect and cap relief.
Having 3 long good defenders that can all defend multiple positions (Iggy the second best wing defender in the NBA) gives you a great start and the athleticism that gives you is scary. Depending on what you add around them you could turn that into a contender.
The draft is a crapshoot no matter how you look at it, building for the future is something you do when you don't have an All-star in their prime and can just tank a few seasons away. Even while tanking the whole time your looking for that player all-star like LMA, which is damn rare to find unless you have a top 3 pick. The only team that has been really able to tank its way to a good team is OKC and that's because Durant(#2) Westbrook(#4) Harden(#3) were all insanely high picks that all turned out to be all star caliber players. Rarely happens that way, usually you take a team with an all-star and make moves to get him help. I don't count the bulls as a team that tanked its way into their stars because they were a decent young team that was in the playoffs for 3 years before imploding 1 year and getting Rose with a 1.3% pick.
To build a team through the draft you have to get lucky and get that game altering player that isn't in every draft. Rarely happens so i'd rather take my chances with getting proven talent then throwing a pair of dice and hoping a 7 shows up.

God protect us from Danny Ainge. He's pretty much useless now that Kevin McHale is no longer a GM elsewhere.

fyi

we traded next years pick already? so we cant trade both this years picks unless we acquire another one for either this year or next

Oh ya....What a bunch of Dumbasses we are. But now I am thinking the rule is having to have your own pick every other year?

I know they've changed something in the CBA about this, but buying low first-rounders has been pretty easy in the past.

Except, of course, nobody does. Well done: another straw man convincingly demolished.

So in your opinion no Blazer fan thinks Aldridge, Batum and Iguodala would be a title contender? Assuming you add in decent pieces like Dragic and say.....Hawes?

Well I can only speak for myself. (Although Rhal did a pretty good job of explaining my post)

No I do not see Igoudala making the Blazers a title contender. I was simply stating that I have also debated back and forth the advantages of trading the two picks for a good player. I think having him in the the starting lineup with Batum and LMA would be fun to watch. They could play aggressive D.

Does anyone think that the two picks will make the Blazers Title Contenders? No of course not. But I understand that the arguement for keeping the picks is that even though the draft is a crap shoot, you believe that the chance of improving through the draft is the better option AND we will have the opportunity to sign a free agent. And actually I lean in that direction.

But tell me rght now MM and blaze01, if we are lucky enough to get both lottery picks this year, who are your choices? Which two guys do you suggest we pick that will someday (along with other pieces) make us Title contenders? Please put my mind at ease.

Rule is you can not not make a pick in successive years. So if tomorrow we traded picks, we would need a 1st rounder in return. Because we potentially lose our 2013 1st, we can not trade both picks. We can, however, trade the rights to players drafted.
