<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) -- Reliever Eric Gagne and the Texas Rangers reached a preliminary agreement Tuesday on a one-year contract worth about $6 million. The agreement was confirmed by a person familiar with the negotiations who spoke on condition of anonymity because no announcement had been made. The deal would allow Gagne to earn about $5 million more in performance bonuses. While Gagne's deal was still pending, the Rangers finalized and announced a $6 million, one-year contract for center fielder Kenny Lofton, a six-time All-Star. Texas also met with free-agent pitcher Mark Mulder.</div>

Does anyone else think Gagne will never return to his dominating self again?? I don't think he will be shut down effective again, but I still he can be good.

I think his 3 year span of abuseing Roids caught up with him. :whistling: If he can stay healthy, he could be productive. But based on the past 2 years that's a huge "If"

All the experts had him going to Boston, but then a few days ago Boston stopped talking to him because his price got too high.Guess there is always someone willing to pay for former greatness.

Told ya he'd go to Texas. Gosh I'm a genius.
