Did we not just get Devin Harris? He would be a matchup nightmare for all 30 teams if he could actually adjust to the NBA and prove that he's got talent (which I really don't think he has). I'm not ignorantly hating him for no reason. I haven't watched any of his games live or anything but from the videos and articles I've seen on him he's not worth a lottery pick at all. He's farrrrrrrr from silky smooth he's so mechanical in the lane it's ridiculous. If he brings it to the cup like that in the NBA he'll learn his lesson once the ball ends up in the 5th row. I know these player comparisons aren't always reliable but he's being called a best case Hedo Turkoglu! Would you really waste a lottery pick on Hedo? The Nets are very interested in him but I think it is partly for the wrong reasons. I think they are looking at him b/c they heard he has talent and is the top foreign prospect so he's worth a shot, but I think a big part of it is just that Jersey is mad Italian and so is Brooklyn and they have noticed that about 4 people show up for the home games now. I think he's a strong possiblity for the #10 pick but I really don't think he's worth it nor do I think he'll ever be much more than a Boki Nachbar.</div>
I doubt the Nets are putting too much stock in the Italian fan thing.
1st - Italians are more into soccer than basketball
2nd - you'll only see an impact in attendance if he's really good and makes a difference
Doubt they would risk a lottery pick on a player simply because he's Italian and they could sell an extra 50 to 100 tickets on that alone. It's peanuts to them.

Hey then I have an idea to help sell tickets in NJ:
Draft Danilo at #10
Draft Omer Asik at #21
Trade Devin Harris for Yi Jianlian & #8 pick (Westbrook)
Trade RJ for Kirilenko
Go fetch a player from Germany and see if there are any circassians that can play basketball
I think we'd be set to sell some tickets. Maybe even fill up 2/3 of the arena every now and then. Wow!
Trade

My post just finished saying that I didn't think drafting an Italian just because he's Italian would sell that many extra tickets. So I don't understand the quote and sarcastic post attached. Did I not make my ideas clear?
