Griffin scores 33, leads Clippers past Kings

no mention of CJ's 37
The Clippers beat the Kings? That's quite an upset. I can see why it's the top story. And Griffin scoring 33...full on hero mode by the unsung Blake Griffin to propel his underdog Clippers to the victory over the juggernaut Kings. The emergence of Blake Griffin as a legit starter/sixth man is definitely something for NBA fans to watch for this season.

I said it earlier in the thread, really wanna hammer this point. Harkless and Aminu have ELITE defensive footwork on the perimeter. It's Tony Allen-esque.
All of the Blazers players who played last night have legit NBA talent. Whatever bad plays or miscues they had were because of inexperience, not lack of talent. This is a great sign for the future. Other than Dame, and maybe CJ, the only player who is even close to his ceiling is Plumlee.

Let the good times roll.

Plums maybe one of our most mobile big man. He certainly has the best handles out of all of them including Noah.

But I was right. Plumlee in foul trouble and Davis was the primary defender. Nothing against Plumlee, but this was not the best matchup for him. Loved his passing though. I think he is a better than almost anyone on the team last year.

Its becoming more and more clear that it is by design and encouraged for Plumlee to push the ball up the court when he gets the rebound. Its crazy to see sometimes when you think about Robin Lopez, Oden or Przybilla doing that.

Aminu. Can't remember ever seeing a greater first play of the season than that. Glad it went well or Plumlee may have seen the bench.

One of Plumlee's best values is that they can dump to him in the high post, or he can drive there, then the defense panics to cover him and he can find the open player. Or, if they don't cover him then he can get to the rim. There is a lot of value in that.

On a similar note, I really want Meyers to work on faking the 3, putting the ball on the floor and taking it to the hoop. From there he can either stop & pop at the FT line, take it all the way if the defense doesn't close, or hit someone with a nice pass for an open shot/lay-up if the defense does close. We saw him try it from the corner last night (bad spot, didn't go well), and I remember him doing it in the MEM series once. By the end of the season I expect it to be a reliable part of his arsenal, and then he's going to be hell for defenses to deal with.

Ryan Anderson apparently added that to his game. It was great to see that, on a few occasions, we closed out on him and made him put the ball on the floor. But now he's adept at doing that. However, he doesn't have the vision/passing skills that Meyers has.

Told you guys. We are competing for a playoffs spot this year.

I do owe an apology to Mr Davis, tho. Everything i hated about LaMarcooch (and Batum) is upside down with Davis (and Aminu, to some extent).

I'm waiting for Hendo to play bench SG instead of Crabbe, not sure Allen is ready for big minutes yet.

Lillard HAS GOT to stop it with these stupid EXTRA long rage 3s, he is surrounded by shooters and 7 foot guys on his team, no reason to pull that superman shit so early on the clock. I really thought the ball would be safer in CJ's or Fraizer's hands near the end.
You came up with all this after only 48 minutes huh?

Our machines are capable of slo mo, but this new XMO cam just makes everything look SO much smoother and better. Unfortunately, because of cost, we will only have it at home, but it looked amazing last night.

Always wondered WHAT the cost of those were, anyway.

Probably the cost of 3 regular HD cameras......plus extra software for my machines to read it and get it out on the air!

Best part about the game last night was that I have a new cable box that actually can handle 1080p video and HDMI output. So much better looking.

I just did a quick search of broadcast HD cameras.... "Price available upon request" which, in english means "Hold your pants, this is gonna knock you on your ass, FAMS."

I just looked up and found prices for an HD camera (at least the ones I've seen on the court...) And those go for close to 70K EACH.

Didn't see any of you mention my new Super SloMo camera we got this season!!!!! 300 frames per second!!

54000 frames later and we see the OOOOOOO face.

You trying to get cute with me, tough guy?!:dancepenguin:

Davis impressed me with his hustle in pre-season too.
Lillard annoyed me with these Kobe shots last season too.
Hendo is more experienced and an all around better player than Crabbe at the moment.
:hater:

Finally people are realizing how F&*king lazy Aldridge and Batum were for us, now that a true hustle team is on the court.

It was the best moment of the off-season when Aldridge was confirmed out, and Batum was traded.
At those moments, my enthusiasm for the Blazers was re-kindled - because I knew, going forward, I was going to get to watch players who leave it all on the court, and have pride in their craft.

I think a few people are owed a dish of crow from the likes of Sinobas and Blue9. . .

Didn't Ron Ron have to pay the $100k for smashing the HD camera a few years back? That's about right for a technology price drop.

That happened already...the best part of all this is that game threads are fun again
