I am sorry but NHL played their usual part in helping their darling team. Two PPs swung momentum to the pens.

We need Al to break a table and get this team fired up for the second.
He doesn't try to stop it with urgency though because he hasn't looked behind him and doesn't realize there's a Pen right behind him. He has ZERO situational awareness. Seriously. For all the times that these dmen drop to their knee to stop the pass, the ONE FUCKING TIME that they should have, they don't. Ughhh. Just an awful finish to a period we played well in. Offensively we're still not screening him nearly enough and giving him easy saves and we're not crashing the net enough. Can't keep shooting from the blue line and outside the circles with no traffic or defections and expect to score a goal.
We had the last PP and if you recall, the Pens almaot scored on it. The refs weren't the reason that the Pens scored at the end of the period. Our consistent ineptitude at the end of periods is why. The refs made a bad call on the Stalberg penalty, but evened it out with the snow shower call that is VERY RARELY called.

They were dominating until the refs called two questionable penalties on Stalberg. After that it evened out which ultimately led to the idiots on d allowing that goal with 17 seconds.
I hope AV grows some balls and "discusses" the officiating after the game. Total embarrassment to the game how this game has been called thus far between penalties, face offs with the Rangers constantly getting thrown out yet Pitt not getting thrown out even once.

Only this team can continue to knock their own goalie out. I don't know how you are so careless with your stick that it ends up in Hank's eye.
It's Staal. Hes been brain dead almost all season long.
Interesting view on the goal. I just got home but was listening in the car on the radio and dave maloney absolutely hammered girardi calling his effort to get the puck the corner a very very very lazy play on his part as a direct quote and was just coasting to the puck instead of skating hard to get it. He never mentioned staal on the play. I haven't seen the play yet
Girardi lazily goes after the puck, but it's a harmless puck in the corner that turns into a goal because of lazy play by the Rangers as usual at the end of a period.

On pens goal, Girardi thought it was an icing so he decided to stop skating and raised his hand to the ref. This is a veteran player and not a rookie. Dont stop skating and rely on these assholes who are calling the game.
Well, this team has folded tonight it seems like. Hopefully Hank can come back tonight ala Willis Reed and motivate them to a win. No one going to the front of the goal, all five guys just hanging out on the boards in the offensive zone, and defensively they look about two steps slower to the puck than Pitt.

This is the worst time to do so with no MAF. Only going to get tougher in game 2 with him most likely being back in net.

I did not think this team would be this incompetent. How many times have they missed the net tonight.
On a friggin PP and everyone is hanging out at the boards, with no movmenent and only Kreider willing to go in front of net and no one willing to shoot. Unreal. Back to the passive pussies. Do they not realize that Hank isn't back there and it's very likely Pitt scores more goals. I'd be shocked if this game is 1-0. Get traffic in front, shoot the puck and get a deflection, AND MOVE WITHOUT THE PUCK. It's like they're all stuck in quicksand on the PP.
