Everyone has said that about every one of our games, but really I have to ask if we were really any different last season? Especially early in the year. There is a reason Dame Time exists, and it's not just because Dame is awesome. It's because his team frequently needs him to be a superhero to pull off wins in the 4th quarter or OT. I think maybe we just have higher expectations this year, and it's altering our view of the team, which honestly isn't much different from last season. We just spend a lot more money on them and expect more on the court.

This is why I wasn't as worried about Crabbe as I am Turner. Crabbe just wasn't shooting well, which can easily turn around. Turner can't shoot to begin with and his problems are harder to reconcile.

Very true. And Crabbe isn't being asked to facilitate the offense (and doing it horribly). Crabbe is overpaid, but he has shown (at least to us) glimpses of what he can do.

Good lord I love Dame, but we can't expect to count on heroics to consistently win us games. Right now we look like a fringe playoff team at best. Anchored by our two stars but getting very little contribution from everyone else.

I understand the logic that went into bringing Turner aboard. We needed another ballhandler and we preferred one who had some size so that we can cross match with Dame/CJ on defense. That's why he doesn't play Napier much. Turner's just too damn loosey goosey with the ball, and his lack of shooting actually makes it harder for him to help us because his defender can just sag off and clog up our offense even more.
