Hurd raving about the Blazers defense. My goodness, the homerism is strong with this one. Maybe he didn't watch the game?

Dame 40/13
CJ Mc 28/10
Nurk 18/12

Incredible performance by those three. Feels like we shouldn't have had to struggle so much and play the starters such big minutes.

It's incredible how we barely won against the Kings with our trinity performing so well.

Any quarter would skew the game. What's your point?

That 70% shooting or whatever the fuck they had in the first quarter isn’t a sustainable way to win a game, especially with their defense. What’s yours?

Lillard is the first player in NBA history to get 40 points, 13 assists with 0 turnovers

WOW!

impressive...

maybe it's more impressive how quickly somebody can generate an obscure stat like that.

Nurkic might be the first player to score 18 & 12 with 3 blocks and 9 FTA's in 30 minutes or less....on a Wednesday in January in the Pacific time zone on a day when the president has been impeached

Great win and comeback (twice) but if weak team's like Sacramento are putting 126 on us we have no chance with the better teams of the west

But the Blazers brand of basketball is?

Irony. Look it up.

huh? it's not that obscure. no turnovers with that production is really impressive. Dame and CP are the only ones to EVER get 40/10 without a turnover.

I thought the Blazers played their game for all 4 quarters, while the kings had 2 burst plus followed by droughts that let us hang around. This all goes to show 20 point leads just not safe anymore in todays game. Early 2000s ground&pound game rolling in their graves.

you'd think that most times when a team wins the rebound battle by 4, the assist battle by 7, and shoots over 52% on FG's while making 19 three's on 50% shooting...they'd win

but kings are gonna king I guess

I'm really happy Dame and CJ had such an amazing night offensively and that is why we won but for everyone in here asking why it was hard to close out the Kings. The answer is obvious and it's one that's getting really old now. Any perimeter defense that plays Dame and CJ 85 combined minutes is going to give up an extremely high 3pt fg% (tonight 50%). Dame and CJ have to always out score the points that they just give away non stop on defense. It's a problem and it catches up with us less times in the regular season and more times in the playoffs.

They are two spectacular offensive guards but they are a horrendous defensive back court. And it is them, it's not RoCo and DJJ or Trent... I mean Hoodie and Melo don't help but having your two leaders in minutes played, both be perimeter defensive liabilities is never going to be a recipe for a championship. That being said I love both of these guys when surrounded by good-great defenders that can knock down some shots and make their layups.

Lolol isn’t that every game thread?

Very true! Usually I follow along some during the game, but I wasn't tonight. I feel like it's going to be even more fun this way!

That’s what happens when you’re ranked 30th in defense.
