I'll be honest, i'm cool with the occasional update when I'm watching, like when they are shooting FTs, but EVERY play might be a little overdoing it. I can pass it along to our graphics department if you want though.

I think he is the only consistent poster on the forum that exclusively works during the games. Maybe don't be so offended by his hindsight. I'm sure @THE HCP would admit that he is posting from a different viewpoint than the rest of us.

I mean the guy is putting together the video packages that we are commenting on in real time. Is it not OK for him to ever post his takes on the game or what people said during the game?

If you trap, you gotta trap harder. Blszers trapping way too soft and it's allowing the pass to the big in the middle of the floor.

Another? I'm not sure you wrote what you think that means? Dame breaks the trap every game multiple times by passing to the big? But i agree you have to trap consistent and you have to trap as hard as possible.

It would appear that maybe the Kings don't play very good defense and they don't guard the three very well?
Most certainly cannot be that the Blazers have some pretty good shooters that can get hot?

Finally Stotts is trying Dame/CJ/Gary/RoCo/Nurk

He has done this the past 4 games. I think he would have done it more if Nurk didn't pick up a couple of penalties?

Whew. That’s our best lineup. Someone lit a fire under Nurks ass before the 4th quarter.

I think we are seeing a noticeable improvement in Nurks overall fitness. He seems to have played his way into better shape and now you are seeing a better player in the 4th quarter.

I also noticed another tidbit!
CJ talked to him at least three times during that game about not complaining to the refs. On fouls and out of bounds plays that Nurk wanted to start jawing to refs about, CJ would walk over and tap him and tell him to let it go and get into position.
That is all part of what teams are supposed to do. Keep each other accountable and communicate both during play and during breaks.

Nice observation. I did see Nurk getting upset on some of the rebounds, fouls, and out of bounds plays and jawing with the refs but I didn’t see CJ talk to him.

I felt like Nurk was passive until the 4th then he just decided to turn it way up on D. RoCo and DJJ alone are not enough to shore up our defense but when all three of them get it going we look like a totally different defensive team. Sac actually had trouble getting good shots in the 4th and Nurk’s aggression spread to the whole team and even created some steals to boot.

The goal being to have 3 defenders from (Nurk, DJJ, RoCo, GT, Little?) on the floor at all times. That’s 3x48=144 minutes. So something like Nurk 28, RoCo DJJ GT 32, Little 20. As it is now GT is often our only defender on the floor.

Little could give the team everything Hood is giving them at this point.
I think the DJJ/RoCo/Melo thing is incumbent on fouls to some point and also matchups. There are games like last night they needed defense but like the game before they needed offense. Jones and Roco get fouls and Melo draws them.
Nurk vs Kanter again matchups and fouls make a big difference. One thing is for certain Giles has not been great. Playing him might show improvement but can they afford to play him in a close game?

Can’t argue about Hoody. He’s been pretty awful. Giles could improve I guess?
My biggest question is Little. This guy could be a diamond in the rough and his minutes would come from Anthony’s for the most part. At least I hope so?
