:reading:OFFICIAL BULLS' GAME NOTES
:reading: OFFICIAL BLAZERS' GAME NOTES

• Tuesday marks the first of two matchups between the Trail Blazers and Bulls in 2015-16.

• Portland and Chicago split the two-game season series in 2014-15, with each team winning on its home floor.

• The Trail Blazers have won 12 of their past 15 games against the Bulls dating back to the start of the 2007-08 season.

• Portland has been victorious in each of its past seven home games against Chicago.

• Chicago’s 115-106 victory over Portland last season on Dec. 12 snapped a seven-game winning streak for the Trail Blazers over the Bulls (matches franchise-high).

• Portland has won the first contest of the season between these two teams in each of the past four years.

• In the past seven games between these two teams, Portland is 6-0 when limiting Chicago to under 100 points, and 0-1 when the Bulls surpass the century mark.

• Damian Lillard scored a game-high 35 points on 13-of-21 shooting (7-10 3-PT) in Portland’s most recent game against the Bulls on Dec. 12, 2014. Lillard has scored at least 20 points in four of his past five contests against Chicago.

• Damian Lillard made seven three-point field goals (of 10) in his last game against Chicago, and has shot 61.1% from beyond the arc in six career games against the Bulls.

• Chicago is seventh in the NBA in three-point shooting at 37.6%, while the Trail Blazers are holding their opponents to 31.9% shooting from beyond the arc (7th lowest in NBA).

• The Bulls are ranked fourth in the NBA in rebounding with 47.17 boards per game, while Portland is ranked 15th with 44.53 rebounds per contest.

HEAD-TO-HEAD HISTORY:
ALL TIME: Bulls lead, 59-57
IN PORTLAND: Trail Blazers lead, 35-23
AT THE BULLS: Bulls lead, 36-22

Nice game thread again I guess DarkWingDuck..... EXCEPT........ the picture of the Moda is OBVIOUSLY not from today. Those trees have lost their leaves already. I mean, c'mo bro!

I'm starting another poll....... we lose this game, I think I should take the Official Game Thread duties back! I had a .675 winning % FAMS!

I'd go with the Bulls. Pippen and Jordan were better wing defenders than anything in the league now. Rodman and Harper were great defensively too. Kukoc could come in to play small ball since the modern games don't have centers. Guess what the one position of weakness for the Bulls was... Center! No worries against the Warriors though. Hell I'd just stick Jordan on Draymond and Pippen on Curry; then they switch all those pick and rolls. Curry couldn't shoot over those two nor could Draymond abuse them inside.

The Warriors had a lot of problems with LeBron in the finals last year and his team was decimated with injuries. But the greatest player of all time along with a loaded supporting cast? The Warriors would lose.

That Bulls team wasn't as deep as this Warriors team; so I think over 82 games the Warriors would get more wins in this era. The Bulls were in a weaker expansion era league for the regular season. But in 7 games with no back to backs it's the Bulls.

Actually disregard all of the above; it comes down to which team gets Kerr.

I really wish the NBA would allow hand checking in today's NBA. That would be a really big wake up call for some of these guards.

Officiating sucked then and it sucks now.....That is a factor in any game, any series and any era.

Alright! Getting both Los Angeles teams over the weekend was very satisfying. In come the Bulls and if you are an old timer like me you always want to see the Blazers beat the Bulls. Visions of MJ making just a few too many plays in Championship games still linger in your memory.

The Bulls present a different type of team and defense. They don't play great offense but have a couple of capable scorers in Butler and Gasol that can lead to problems for the inexperienced front line of the Blazers. Rose looks to be playing coming back from a bad ankle but he has been having a number of problems this year that seem to be coming from the broken orbital bone that has had him wearing a mask all season. His play making and defense have been suspect and if there seems to be problems tonight Kirk Hinrich will get moved into the lineup quick.

The Bulls defense has problems defending the 3 but they are dominant at the rim. Portland needs to stay very active and try to find ways to score in the paint. Running and getting fast break points should be the strategy by Stotts. If they can get some points in the paint and hit a few 3's the Blazers should be right in this game.

The Blazers seem to have picked up their own game on the defensive side. Part of that might be due to Kobe not being able to shoot the ball anymore but for the most part in the last two games we watched Lillard and CJ both pick it up and Then it seems like Plumlee is improving every game. Gasol poses a big problem however. There are few big men in the game as skilled as Pau. He moves well and can hit a huge variety of shots. Jimmy Butler also is a Blazer killer. He will drive to the rim over and over and dish just enough to make you wonder who is going to have the ball? He draws fouls and gets to the line. CJ has his hands full tonight lets see if he can handle Butler? there might be a switch up here maybe moving Aminu on to Butler or even giving Crabbe the call?

The other problem is the Bulls bench. They trot out Noah, Gibson, Portis and Hinrich. The Bulls are pretty deep. Very little drop off and they have players to make good adjustments. The bench and the advantage of Nikola Mrotic vs Vonleh has me wondering if the Blazers can withstand the kind of pressure the Bulls will present in a late game situation. This is just the kind of game where the Blazers get a lead and then relax. Chicago will play defense for 48 minutes and no lead will be safe.

Sounds like Meyers is starting to play again. That is good news. It seems like they are not going with surgery and the strength workouts are getting him playing. They could use a big to spread the floor tonight.

All in all i am looking for a big game from Dame tonight. If he is hitting his shots early the team will be in a good position. When he draws defenders CJ seems to have better looks and when they both start hitting the looks come for Davis and Plumlee. When the Blazers Guards have big games the Blazers always have a chance to win. Simple as that.

Go Blazers!

Kjironman is a fan!!!

I would start aminu at PF and Harkless at SF tonight. They match up well against mirotic and snell. Vonleh and Davis on the second unit to go up against Gibson and Noah. I'd even let Alexander play against Gibson.

Way too early to compare Warriors to those Bulls. As I've said in other threads, the 93-94 Rockets started the season 15-0 and only finished 58-24. Also, the 2012-13 Heat won 27 games in a row and still didn't catch the Bulls. Jordan and Pippen are better than everyone on the Warriors. I think that Bulls team was better.

This Era = Warriors win
Bulls Era = Bulls win

My favorite coach, Fred "Dreamy" Hoiberg A.K.A. "The Mayor" (Iowa State graduate here) vs. my favorite team. Let the battle commence!

Wrong. We can compare the Warriors to the Bulls. Doesn't mean they are better. Obviously they have more to prove. But it can be an interesting discussion.

Learn the game then post.

LOL!!!, but... wouldn't his comment just be his part of the discussion, thinking it's too early to be able to compare the two? His comparison is that they aren't close and Chicago would win?
No where did I read that he said you can't compare them.

Just sayin...

Only 5 more games and Strenuus will tell us what he thinks of the team! Only 14 more wins and I win $200. Only 42 more wins and I win $1200. There's a lot on the line here.

I didn't know you were so excited!

*jumps up and down with glee* Yippee!!!

Blazers PR: "Hey guys, we'd like someone from the team to address the crowd tonight"

Players: "Hey rook (Pat), get out there, you ain't going to do anything else tonight"

Bulls fans in portland have forgotten Jordan retired awhile ago... why are they not hornets fans?
