• Wednesday marks the first of two regular season matchups between the Trail
Blazers and Cavaliers in 2016-17.

• Portland and Cleveland split the 2015-16 season series, with each team winning its road game.

• In the most recent matchup between these two teams on Dec. 26 at the Moda Center, Portland defeated Cleveland by 29 points (105-76). That represents its largest victory over the Cavaliers since March 17, 2011 (W, 111-70).

• In that Dec. 26 game, Allen Crabbe scored a career-high 26 points (8-15 FG) and shot 4-of-6 from beyond the arc.

Gonna try to start off this game thread on a positive note:

A win here may change our fortunes for the rest of the season. It would give us some momentum going into a homestand against 4 teams that we could easily beat.

We have the worse defense in the NBA

Enough said

You mean like 4 of the 5 we should have beat on THIS road trip?

So when are we going to give this DarkWingDuck guy the boot? Seems like every time he makes a game thread we lose!

We did play Cleveland tuff last year with a split but could easily been 2 win. So that positive side of tonight game.

We already lost this. Not even wanna watch this game

We've been playing well since the start of the Pelicans game. We just haven't seen victories in every game so people are panicking. The Knicks are an excellent home team that is starting to find it's way and we almost beat them. I think tonight's game will be close too. Can't wait to see what happens.

Did THIS guy above just use the term EXCELLENT and Knicks in the same sentence? #64Wins

Knicks on pace for 31-10 home record. That is excellent. By the way, the Pelicans haven't lost since Jrue came back. Every game is a challenge.

To an extent, but we have still given up way too many points in a per 48 minute.
Exactly. Plus, the defense doesn't pass the almighty "eye test". Anyone can watch us play and notice that 80% of the time, it looks terrible. We have spurts of good defense, so at least there is a foundation there to build on.

I'm only tuning in for a possible Layman sighting. Hate road back to backs.

I'm going to keep saying this, but if stotts is going to insist on this defensive scheme, we better find a center that can handle it, since it's almost entirely dependent on one that can shut down the paint.

Boogie trade confirmed! ;)

Boogie trade confirmed! ;)

I mean a trade is pretty much guaranteed. So far it's looking like we're too deep as a team. Stotts is trying to find a rotation and this Aminu injury has just fucked that up.

Since Aminu has gone down our starting four has changed almost every game (maybe Ed is finally taking hold of it)--that also means different bench players are playing each night. One game Meyers plays, then he sits, and Vonleh takes over. Back and forth and you can't get in a rhythm as a player let alone as a unit with the constant unsure if you're playing or not.

A trade will clear up the lines and settle to a playoff 9 man rotation.

We got this. No problem.

Cleveland will be overconfident.
And out of synch after such a long break!

Bron probably gained 10 pounds since their last game. Out every night drinking like an Oden.

Yeah, that's the ticket!
