:reading:OFFICIAL CLIPPERS' GAME NOTES
:reading: OFFICIAL BLAZERS' GAME NOTES
• Thursday marks the first of three regular season matchups between the Trail Blazers and Clippers. It’s the lone matchup between these two teams at the Moda Center during the regular season.

• The Trail Blazers went 1-3 in four regular season games against the Clippers in 2015-16. Portland is 6-13 against Los Angeles since the start of the 2011-12 season.

• 2015-16 marked the Clippers fourth regular season series victory over the Trail Blazers in the past five years.

• Ed Davis averaged 13.5 points (71.0% FG) and 11.3 rebounds in four games against the Clippers last season. Davis recorded three double-doubles in four games against LAC in 2015-16.

• Mason Plumlee averaged 14.5 points (57.6% FG) in four games against the Clippers last season, his highest scoring average against any NBA team in 2015-16. Plumlee also averaged 9.5 rebounds and notched two double-doubles in four games against LAC.

• POSTSEASON: The Trail Blazers defeated the Clippers in a six-game series in the First Round of the 2016 NBA Playoffs. It was the first playoff matchup between these two teams in NBA history.

• POSTSEASON: In that postseason series, Portland became just the second team in NBA history to lose its first two games by 20+ points and still win the series.

• POSTSEASON: Mason Plumlee recorded at least 10 rebounds in each of Portland’s final five games against the Clippers in the 2016 NBA Playoffs, making him the first Trail Blazer to have 10+ rebounds in five straight postseason
games since Bill Walton and Maurice Lucas in the 1977 NBA Finals vs. Philadelphia.

• CONNECTION: Trail Blazers president of basketball operations Neil Olshey served as the Clippers vice president of
basketball operations for two seasons from 2010-12. The Clippers reached the NBA Playoffs under Olshey’s guidance
in 2011-12, marking the team’s first postseason appearance since 2005-06.

• CONNECTION: Portland forward Al-Farouq Aminu was drafted eighth overall by Los Angeles in the 2010 NBA Draft
and averaged 5.6 points and 3.3 rebounds in his lone season with the Clippers.

HEAD-TO-HEAD HISTORY:
ALL TIME: Trail Blazers lead, 141-73
IN PORTLAND: Trail Blazers lead, 86-21
AT THE CLIPPERS: Trail Blazers lead, 55-52

Other. I despise all of the NBA teams equally, except for the Portland. There are individual players that rub me the wrong way with their play and actions though.

The Clippers are the biggest bunch of whiners in the NBA.....EVER. Then, throw Felton on top of all of that. Still waiting on him to score those 50 points against us that he promised after we dumped his fat ass. He's scored a total of 22 points in all of his return visits, and I'm positive he's probably eaten more do(ugh)nuts than that.....each visit.

How in the world is this near the bottom of the second page? The game is tonight!

I wonder why the Rockets? I mean yea, fuck em, but still I didn't expect them to be taking the cake. They dont even have Howard anymore. Cp3 and Griffin are two of the most punchable players in the league on their own, let alone them being on the same team. Clippers get my vote.

Harden, Ariza, Beverley and Brewer are just as punch-able .

Doc Rivers alone is enough to vault the Clippers into most hated status. Adding fatty Felton was just icing on the cake.

The Clippers definitely have more players (and coaches) that I hate. But the Rockets have the one player who has disgraced the game of basketball more than any other player. For that reason my resting hate rate is higher for the Rockets, but my hate rate spikes higher for the Clippers when we're playing them.

For me Harden and CP3 are on that same level. But I have to admit, a lot of my disdain for them is really the ref's fault. They play the way they do because it works. If the referee wouldn't let them get away with their shit, they would adapt.

Again last night someone tried to play D on Harden. It worked as he threw up an airball. But Harden complained and next time down the court Harden threw up his hands as if he was being hacked and the refs blew the whistle. There was no doubt in my mind the call was coming. I waited for it.

This is identical to what Cp3 gets away with....he complains, he then flails his arms about.....and inevitably the whistle blows.
I guess if it works you keep doing it.

Unfortunately for both of them is once the playoff begin they eventually run up against another "superstar" and the calls don't always come.

First off, I love the rocket hate on this board. F'ya, F' the rockets!

Second, I love BBall season, there's a game on almost every friggin day!!

Because the geek that makes these game threads (which aren't as good as the ones I've made in the past I'm sure we can all agree on this) makes them in like the 4th quarter of the previous game!!!

It's like you've become the Mexican version of Donald Trump.

No he has the whole season premade before summer league and tweaks them right before every game. You stand no chance

One of the things I'm looking for this season: the demise of the Clips.

Probably won't happen, but easily could. CP and BG free agents after this season. If things don't go well.....

They need to make a trade. They aren't good enough to beat San Antonio or GSW.

Must win game to keep the streak alive. (98 game win streak this season) only 97 to go!

I think it's likely they trade Griffin if they start like they did last year.
