Oh, and someone steal Nurk's wig when he's not looking. That fucking thing is hideous.

The 3 point almost cost us tonight both ways. 10-30 not good shooting the 3 and gave up to many too. They had 10 more shots at the basket tonight. We move the ball we was good but when we back to the old ways outcome wasn't good.

Wow. That was a hard-fought victory. There was a bit of contribution from all of the starting 5:
- Dame: 28 points, 6 assists
- Whiteside: 10 blocks, 15 rebounds, 8 points
- Anthony: 23 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists
- Hood: 19 points (7/12 fg)
- CJ: 20 points, 7 rebounds

I'll take that win!

Dame burned off Thanksgiving carbs first half....45 family members from Oakland eating at his house all day yesterday with a huge party....he was not shooting well early

There are still some issues with the team, but I'm hoping by continuing to play together, they will keep showing improvement.

It's just amazing what having Anthony (or any competent big man) has done to the team.

For the first time in a LONG time, there are threats at 4 spots in starting 5.

Im here to eat my crow. I never thought in a million years Carmelo would be doing what he's doing. It is amazing seeing him look like his old former self for the most part. Major props to this guy for putting in the work needed and not bitching at all with what happened last season. Even if this season at least to this point has been a down year, its awesome seeing Carmelo and Dame together.

Whiteside kind a brings a little more than appears to have. Kind a nice to see.

Whiteside has more blocks tonight than Meyers had all last year. Swish.

more blocks than meyers had in the complete

2013-14
2017-18
2018-19

seasons.

and already this year he's had more than meyers in the

2013-14
2014-15
2015-16
2017-18
2018-19

and is one away from tying his 2016-17 season

infact, last year Whiteside had more blocks in one season that Meyers has had in his entire career.

This isn’t true if you count blocks on Twitter.

One of the knocks on Carmelo has been about his efficiency.

In his first 5 games with the Blazers, he's shooting 45.3%.

However, in his last 3 games:
Tonight: 8-16
vs. Thunder: 9-11
vs. Bulls: 10-20

If he continues this, I may have to start calling him Carmelofficient.

I've been watching some posters here spend a lot of time trashing Whiteside for the first 7 weeks of the season, and I just think that criticism has been off base. Sure, he's kind of mechanical in some of his movement, and it appears he's loafing at times (which I don't think is really true, but maybe).....but coming into tonight, Whiteside was either 1st or 2nd on the team in PER, TS%, FT Rate, off reb rate, def reb rate, total reb rate, block rate, def rating, winshares, & winshares/48; and he's 3rd in DBPM and 4th in BPM. He can't be hitting all those marks without having quite a bit more impact that his detractors have been claiming.

Portland loses tonight without Whiteside's rim protection

They get some time to practice leading into the next stretch...practice is what will sharpen this team up and also having a set starting core

A win is a win even if they kind of had to struggle all night to get it done. In a game where Whiteside has a franchise record setting number of blocks, I would hope it wasn't such a battle. Still...it's a win.

The real question to me is do they win if Nurks playing tonight and WS doesnt?

Dame said in an interview he's been in his ear and it's helping the chemistry...HW missed most of training camp....now they get to practice a lot next month at home

he's been great so far, and it's been entertaining, but don't get too far over your skis. The NBA average for TS% is around 55%, and the highest Melo has shot over the last 6 years is 53.5%; and he's been down around 52%. Maybe he'll remain consistent as a Blazer, but he has been a real streaky shooter over those 6 years. He's bound to have brick-fest games...all scorers do. Hopefully, he'll limit them and find his range quickly
