It was so clear what happened tonight. Cleveland didn't guard our guards at all in the first half. They let us do whatever we wanted to. Like they hadn't scouted us. Then in the second half, they made adjustments and it was over.

Play hard. Compete. Then hopefully under 5 min the other team wins. I think if we can stay top 5 in this lottery and hope for a miracle on the #1 pick. Play for free agency.

Next yr is the time to taste the playoffs and begin with the win now mentally.

This team isn't bad just need one more firepower

I think we can just end the board now.

From a standpoint of what we needed, this pretty much was perfect. Took the defending runner-up to the end on their own floor on the second night of a back-to-back off a really tough loss.

Honestly, this team is scaring me with its learning curve. It might be getting a little too good too quickly and play us right out of our first round pick which could leave us in a similar position next year. Like Tunchi said, this team isn't bad, but it needs a little bit more to really go somewhere.

On a sidenote, I know some of us were talking about officiating. I thought the two calls involving LeBron in the first half were garbage, the travel and even more the charge being called a block on Plumlee. Even if I don't like it, the realist in me understands stars are going to get close calls, but those weren't that close. And Lillard gets hit with the body at the other end to force a miss and there's no call. Seriously, some of these calls are horrible.

you guys are surprised that a really young team, with 1 proven star and maybe 1 other guy who would be a starter on some teams, loses games late?

Really?

The team has potential. That doesn't necessarily translate into wins.

Story of our season. We look great until the other team takes us seriously, at which point we struggle to score and we can't stop them from scoring.

Dang, another one bites the dust. It wouldn't hurt so bad if we were getting our asses handed to us every game. At least then we could accept that we suck. But, that's not the case. Almost every game is close, we aren't getting blown out. We are there till the end. And we always loose by a possession or two. We are barely not good enough to win, to close games....if we were just a smidge better we would have a winning record right now. Damn!!!
That's the best possible position for us to be in right now - be competitive with ANY team and lose. It's the best of both worlds.

Who are you addressing? I don't get these "you guys" posts. I don't really see anyone acting surprised we lost late, certainly not any sort of majority here. Posts like yours just reek of self righteousness, like you know better than everyone else.

What Blazer game on Jan 10th? Is this December yet?

You sure this wasn't for me?

I don't Mix with this Milieu's Minions. I wouldn't want Speed to come, but I wouldn't mind getting stoned with him.

Wow, that's a long thread I missed. I skip a lot of threads. Mentions me today on page 12. Well, I'm not going to read it when I could read this!

That's what excites me. This board has had a couple of threads about this development. I don't know anything about basketball. Can't talk about it intelligently.

So Allen Crabbe is becoming a real issue. Dude can ball

It's about damn time. The skills were evident. He just seemed to lack confidence for some reason.

Still, from a 31st pick no less.

Averaging 15/2/1, in 28 mpg on 55% FG, 52% on 3s during the last five games.

When he puts up a shot, I'm expecting it to go in. Perhaps he needs to start in place of Aminu?

How about Crabbe/Harkless in the starting unit with CJ/Aminu coming off the bench? Maybe Aminu's awful dribbling won't be as noticeable if he's playing against, presumably, worse defenders? Probably not, but I still think we should be trying out all available options throughout the season to see what works and what doesn't.

A legit possibility, but Harkless has underwhelmed me. Dude doesn't play as hard as he should given his situation. I expected him to come out here with a vendetta to prove ORL wrong, but he hasn't done anything to warrant supplanting CJ (much less, earn PT).

Well, I suspect this is why we got him for a second rounder

True - he hasn't earned the start. But neither has Noah. This isn't a season where "earning" minutes matters as much as trying out new ideas to see what sticks. (Besides, he'd be supplanting Aminu - Crabbe would supplant CJ. :) )

Harkless doesn't do any one thing well enough to stay on the court, and he's an RFA at the end of this season. Pass.
