Their expectations are unrealistic and they set themselves up for this from Day 1.
Can't say i disagree with you there. Then the minute the teams hits some struggles they want to blow it up and fire the coach.
I got a question for you specifically- @HCP
I wrote about it in the pre game. Do you think there is better competition in the league this year due to better scheduling? There seems to be more Parity? Teams seem better rested and it looks to me this is why on any given night a team can beat another? Just seems to have elevated the overall product. Possibly even more time to prep for an upcoming game?

I hadn’t really thought of that side of it. The league definitely wants the teams to have more rest. More down time and practice time is always a good thing you’d think, good point. 1/4 of the season is over and things will work themselves out even more, I’m sure. But who knows, there was a TON of player movement this summer and that might be a factor as well. I think once the injuries start mounting later the season, the rest days in the schedule will become even more important.

On stotts:

He's shown how slow he is to react and adjust. It's been a long time coming to get a new coach. There just isn't a lot to choose from so we're stuck with the slow adjusting coach. :(

Double Edged Sword. He changes too quickly people complain. He changes too slow people complain. Never really heard the changing too slowly argument? Sure there are time i feel he should call a time out quicker but that happens with every coach at some point. Also gotta give the guys time to work through some problems every once in a while. As far as reacting to line ups? He has been playing 11-12 guys so that really hasn't been the case?
Changing overall philosophy might take time. So maybe that is the complaint?

Here is a clip from a look at Scott Brooks
"We’re only at the quarter pole of the season but his rotations still make you scratch your head, sometimes doesn’t make in-game adjustments fast enough, the team easily loses focus, and it looks like it may have spread to the rest of the coaching staff."
Funny how the same things get said from team to team about coach after coach, Player after player.

He needs to adapt. He's shown he's slow to adapt.

He's never changed too quickly. Unless too quickly is after 3 games. That was pretty fast.

Brooks hasn't been a good coach, so.....

Regarding the poll. There needs to be "it doesn't matter" option. and I don't mean that by being down on the team. What I mean is Aminu is going to play with basically the same cast and roughly the same amount of minutes either way so I don't think it matters. I not against it if they just want to see if something will stick to the wall though.

It would be nice to have a longer, better defender on Porter to start the game IMO.

Weren't mine? I've been alright. That's no excuse, and a lot of them thought we'd sick from the get-go.

Seriously bro... you are blaming our struggles on guys that play 15 min a game and are actually productive in those minutes... we aren’t going to have 5 all stars. The problem is clearly McLillard killing any flow to the offense with their hero ball
Lmao. You are wrong on so many levels. We always have at least two of those role players on the floor, and I wouldn't say a one-dimensional player is productive. There's no flow when you have Pat, Turner, or Harkless on the floor. Pat can't attack or defend, Harkless can't attack or shoot and plays lazy and Turner can't shoot or spread the floor, does way too much and shoots too many low percentage shots.

But yeah, our backcourt not passing to those scrubs is the problem.

BTW, there's a very big in-between between mediocre role player and all-star. I want good/great role players. I'm not asking for five all-stars.

God, this is gonna be a tough game. Question is: who will be more motivated? The Blazers, to break-up what could very well be a 5-game (or more!) losing streak? Or the Wizards, to make up for a 47-point drubbing the night before, along with an embarrassing lose-from-ahead loss suffered at home less than two weeks ago?

Usually I'd say the Blazers win this. But this year? This team? This game is totally up for grabs.

I don't understand why the game threads have turned into a bitchfest about the season as a whole. There are plenty of other threads about that. I can only speak for me but the thing I (used to) like about them was hearing news for this game and enjoying it. Feels like so many of the game threads have turned into this.

We have a "Meltdown" thread for this stuff. (another shameless plug)
I totally agree. Way too negative on the game thread.

@Meltdown

Well that didn't work. I better bump it.

Blazers need to come out strong tonight and stay focused. Have a show of force on the home court

I think the Blazers know that Washington feels violated by that last game and is going to come out with tenacity. The Blazers however, being aware of this are going to put their foot on the gas and drop almost everything they throw up causing the wizards to go deep into their bench by the third quarter but to no avail. Foul trouble will keep Washington timid and while Davis and Vonleh dominate the boards. CJ will return to form, scoring + 20 while Nurk and Lillard pick apart the Wizard defense adding multiple $25 gifts to Terry Porters cause at the children's hospital. Aminu will dazzle us with astonishing defense

Harkless and Aminu starting. Stotts basically just spotted the Wiz 15 points right there.
