Outside of Zibanejad, I don't think the Rangers really have any bad contracts left.
Panarin is up after next season, and his production in the regular season is top notch, so he really isn't overpaid.
Kreider is up after two more seasons, and at $6.5M, his cap hit is reasonable for his production.
The decision needs to be made on Fox before his NMC goes into effect after the season. Being fair though, for his production and performance, $9.5M is not a crazy cap hit.
And while I would have said $11M tops for Igor, giving one of the best goalies in the NHL $11.5M isn't horrific, at least he is top notch at his position. Plus, the cap will continue to rise.
If you look at it fairly, with Goodrow and Trouba gone, the really awful contracts are gone outside of Zibanejad, which you are kind of stuck with and hope he wakes up eventually.
The big questions to me are:
What is your decision on Fox. Once he stays into the summer he is here.
What is your decision on Miller, who is an RFA with arbitration rights this summer. This has the potential to be the Rangers next bad contract if Drury goes nuts.
I continue to say, make a choice between the two, and keep one, the other needs to go. Either way, both have value in a trade I believe. Drury should make that decision, and unless he is okay paying Miller well, he should get traded this season IMO.
