Maybe, but those two were a rarity. Most players don't keep it going that long.
Kidd did, Stockton did, Payton did actually tons of small guards keep it going for a long time... especially when they're shooters. The shot is the last thing to go. So what's happening to Dame doesn't have shit to do with how old he is. He is injured, plain and simple. He might need to adjust his shot but it will be back.

LOL at the guys saying Dame is fading because of age. Knotheads

that's not to say Dame had a good game tonight because he didn't. His shot selection was bad; he was gunning up three's on a night the officials were giving him the benefit of whistles. He should have driven a lot more than he did and looked to pass or go to the hoop

but more than anything, it's obvious the Blazer roster is filled with role players and the mesh is not that good

oh...and sadly, the Wolves are more capable of ratcheting up their defense in crunch time than Portlandis

Imma resist the urge to shit on all these players, I just think they know this group is on borrowed time. Just cut the cord already and we’ll probably see them rejuvenated, what’s left of them that is.

If the injury effecting his shot then he not helping the team by the way he is shooting.
That's fair but he believes he's one shot away from being able to shoot through it. The team should keep resting him. Or maybe this is a once ever thing and the dude is ruined.

Part of the problem with Dame is that he's trying to play off the ball, maybe in the hope of fitting in next to Ben Simmons, he is not handling the ball nearly as much

dame has always been rusty when coming off of rest when he doesn't get practice time in. this game was no surprise. he'll bounce back.

i'm more irritated by chauncey repeatedly going to him to iso when Ant was smoking hot and Little had scored twice in a row. just idiotic decision making.

It was not an opportune time for the change. Not, that I'm saying it doesn't need to happen. But, when you have no bigs on the bench because they are all in your starting lineup, that's not good.

I agree. RoCo not starting is fine, but to use Nance when Zeller was out was a mistake.

Have to accept these moments were going to be a chance when you replace an experienced coach with a coach who has only been coaching in the NBA for 2 years.

It was one of my hesitations making a move in the first place and why I wasn't near as certain any change would be a huge upgrade as others felt it would be.

It could be
this team is playing like it knows changes are coming.

the coach is also coaching like it.

WTF was that display? outside of Nas/Ant/Larry and spells of Roco, no one seemed interested in playing tonight.
Ben McClemore was interested. There was that one 3-pointer where he refused to give up on it, and after he got an opening he drilled it.

i guess a sign of the bad times is when i felt that even a win tonight would have left a bad taste in my mouth

Dame is a rarity too...my money is on Dame to beast in his early 30s....the Olympics and putting effort on defense while injured have sucked the air out of his offensive game but as I said...it's legs, not age in his case....

This guy is garbage this year he can’t even make open 3s anymore. It’s beyond feast or famine at this point

But i could stay up all night giving the opposite example. We dont know if his abs are the culprit. He's not a spring chicken anymore. Athletic performance declines with age.

How many good games has he had all year? Is dame the only athlete in the history of the earth that is not fading with age?

Nice to see such positive contributions from Ant and Mc. Add in Nas and that was over 50 points tonight.

I think dame has one or two games with 30 plus. But no, he really hasn’t been the best on the court in any game except those two, and that’s pushing it. I would take him out for the rest of the goddamn season. There is no reason to play him. Zero reason. Build the young guys.

Sadly, tonight was on Dame's inability to make a shot. 11 missed '3's is a large number and countered Ant and Mc having brilliant nights from behind the arc.

For some reason, he is just not shooting well. But given the rest of the effort (outside of Nurk), there were some bright spots.

I know he should probably not be worried about the refs but this is just ridiculous man they took him out of the game he was defending well

We do suck, and I’m not a big fan of the upcoming draft. We either blow this entire thing up or Cronin completely fleeces someone, those are our only options out of this mess.

Dame said he felt better today than he has in a long time. Maybe it was just rust. Let’s see how the next couple games go

If you listened to Chauncey's post game as well... I think CJ is as good as gone because Chauncey was like "now that we're healthy...". Sure he was talking about Dame first and foremost. Also Ant and Nas but if CJ is our second best player then we're definitely not healthy right now. I just thought that was a little telling about what him and Joe may have already decided regarding the big moves they're going to make.
