Hypothetically, would you be willing to trade for James Harden if we don't have to give up Dame?

I don't like this at this point in the season but if a guy or a thousand being out gets us a championship... so be it. That being said, in my heart of hearts I am a person that wants my team to beat the best of the best... so after we got a cheap ring for the team then I'd want to see what the team could do against all of the top teams being healthy.

As far as tonight goes, I was really hoping to see us against all of the best the best team has to offer just to see how this group could handle the Lakers even if we only see flashes of what the Blazers are going to be capable of if healthy by the end of the season... it would have been a great early measuring stick.

I can explain why I do, they are dogs and they do things the right way. They both bring a ton of energy on both ends. They're better than good defenders. They both bring solid shooting and more to offense. I said it when we acquired them, then said it over the last week and a half when the sky was supposedly falling and will say it again today... this is a better forward tandem than Chief and Moe. They'll be the best forward tandem Dame has had to complement his game and that includes LA and Nic.

Because they've only played 2 games for us..... be patient, you'll turn.

Nah, I love what they bring. Just replying to the guy who steady has a complaint on everything trail blazers no matter what.

Yeah, he'll be there. I'm sure he has a legit reason for not traveling with the team... or... he's acting like the superstar Carmelo Anthony who normal rules don't apply to (he may have a history of that). Who knows, all I care about is if we play him the minutes he deserves and if he plays the way he should at this point in his career.

I hope he doesn’t make it for the trip. He’s been terrible and seems to not give a shit about his shot selections. Just cares about himself and his stats
 
I expect Melo to bring his best against his buddy/rival.

One of your negative takes that I completely agree with. I guess if you bet on the same thing every time you are bound to win sometimes.

Edit: I know that you are always a lot more positive about CJ than I am. I'm just fucking around.

CJ is really good to great offensively but not even a generational talent Harden is an all time great, so I would give up pretty much anything to pair him and Dame (who is generationally great). Then if we have to strip the team to make that work we will still have pro level players (even if they're not too good) to play with them this season but we would have an off season after this to use exceptions, trades, ring chasers and the guys that stepped up this season to win championships... if we aren't already knocking at that door with the team we would have right after the trade.

Like I've said this whole time, if we find that Harden isn't a fit then we could move him again for a haul that is immediately equal but likely greater than what we give up for him because I think we would give up future assets to get Harden here but would only want immediate returns to help Dame if we had to end up flipping Harden.

I'm not giving up Nurk as well. But Id do whatever it took to get Dame, Harden And Nurk on the same team. Nurk is top five passing center in the league. Our Two/Three man game would have so many options.
