If this game was defined by MADE clutch shots, I would have liked it even more. But it seemed like no one on either team wanted to make a shot in the 2 overtime sessions.
Good game tho, I can't believe RJ missed the layup.

No lift in his legs, due to a lack of conditioning, RJ was playing on all adrinline and he was pretty worn down by the 2nd ot, that is how Wade got past him & to the basket a few times in the 2nd ot, cause RJ was on him like crazy glue tonight.
Anyway, Shaq had 10 fouls tonight at least but Dickie V and his crew decided to only call half, so Shaq could stay in the game. But overall that isnt the reason we lost. I think it was simply poopr execution down the stretch and during important sequences when we had a chance to stretch leads. Jason Kidd played decent but missed a ton of big shots and missed a big free throw in the OT. Carters stats lie in my opinion, he didnt play well, Iam not mad at the number of shots he took, its just how he took them. Extremely poor shot selection, just throwing shots up at the basket not even trying to square himself with the hoop. After a loss like this Iam not for sure how much the Nets have to give come Sunday. I hope this wasnt our last stand in this series, I hope we put up a fight and maybe force it back to Miami. But to have so much go right, yet so much go wrong. And loss a game like this, its going to be tuff for them to pick themselves up down 0-3.

Every stars on each team had aweful offensive nights. VC, Kidd, Wade, Shaq just couldn't make shots that they usually take. This game coulda been decided if EJ hit those 2 free throws or if Kidd hit that open 3. But that's what happens in this game. Lucky/unluncky bounce and that split second when the ball leaves hands and 1 sec left. It feels like forever until that ball finally hits the rim.

i dont thnk VC should be blamed...I thnk their supporting cast should be blamed for not stepping up...I mean that made the diference really...Look at what the Heat did....

What supporting cast are you talking about in my opinion the supporting cast did what they were resonseable to do, Krstic provided some much needed frontline scoring, Jefferson provided the team with a #2 scorer, and played pretty good defense on Wade until his conditioning just couldnt anymore. Collins defefinately blew alot of open 15 footers, but he isnt their to be an offesive threat. He did his job of being pshyical with Shaq. So Iam not for sure what role players your talking about that didnt do what their rolls where?
Fact is Vince Carter's shot selection was horrid. He was throwing up fall away jumpers with plenty of time on the shot clock, pretty much kept trying to make the homerun play when it really wasnt needed. Iam not placing all of the blame on him definately not, but go back and watch the tape and tell me those are the type of shot attempts you want in a big playoff game with your back to the wall. There is no doubt we need Vince to score big time for us to beat the Heat, so I dont mind him taking 25 shots or what ever, just make them good attempts. Stop throwing up a bunch of lazy shots at the basket and pretty much praying that they go in.....

If we are to blame anyone for the loss it is Cliff Robinson and Kidd for missing game winning shots. Kidd missed a three at the end of regulalation, and Robinson at the end of the second OT. But there is no point in blaming them since they did so many other good things.
The Net gave it thier absolute all, but I think that they had some bad luck with a lot of shots going in and out.

When was the last time 3 guys got triple doubles in the same game? had their been another overtime It may of happened. Heat didn't play great basketball but did enough to get the win. Which is what contenders do. Still clear Shaq is not near 100% yet and If they sweep the series, It gives the big fella more time to rest up. Eddie Jones is finally stepping up in the playoffs. Their role players are doing exactly what they need to do to win a title.

It was a great game, but I had like 8 heart attacks throughout it all. I loved Kidd's super joyful expression after Carter's shot bounced in during the first overtime. Marv Albert's "Yes!" worked pretty well there, it will be interesting to see how he'll work out next season in New Jersey.
I think Carter's shot selection wasn't the best, but it wasn't too bad. I mean he took some off balance 3's, but a lot of his shots were within 7 feet within the basket. He was able to get into the lane, or within an effective range to the basket, but the shot just didn't fall. Lots of runners that just rimmed out. I do think he should have tried to go in harder, but he's becoming more and more a finesse player now. I was hoping he'd take RJ's lead when RJ tried to dunk on Shaq, I loved that!
Kidd is probably feeling the worst. He missed like 3 game winning shots in this one game alone. Free throws down the stretch really hurt too, although I guess that can be cancelled with the Heat's poor shooting (except for Shaq! argh).
I love to hear Shaq dole out his hilarious comments, but I am hating him more and more after this series. I know everyone complains about this already, but he is just given too much leeway and credit by the refs. What I hate the most, is how he ALWAYS fakes to shoot a FT. How many lane violations have the Nets had this series already?! It seriously pisses me off. I think someone used to do that a while back, but he was forbidden from doing it, as it was outlawed by the league. But Shaq gets to do it? Stern and refs need to shape this up.

The CAA looked electrifying on TV, it was great to see after being used to seeing many empty seats.

Sure VC took to many shots but the biggest one went in which is the one to send it into 2ot, but I didnt see him take moer than one shot in the second ot which he made even hto it was a cag. They should've given him the ball in the second ot because he got his confidence back when he hit that game tier, apparently Lawrence Frank thought we should give it to ... Cliff Robinson that one tourned up really good didnt it.

When Jefferson missed that wide open layup on the fast break at the end of the game, the game was over. The Nets just couldnt hold on. But next year your squad is gonna be Nice. With RJ healthy and not rusty you all will have a great year.

I have faith in Cliff Robinson to make those shots actually, but I'm pretty sure Lawrence Frank didn't design the play for him (the one where it rimmed out). It was a lapse on the Miami defense, he was left open, and made the smart decision to shoot it. Yeah it rimmed out, but it was a good look, and the right thing to do at the time.

Nets had so many oppitunities to win it, and they took 3 pointer and outside shots everytime after end of regulation.... and shaq had 5 fouls... they should have gone inside and made shaq drown the foul, and also it was jefferson fault for missing the open layup in the 2nd overtime, and that changed the whole complexion of the game

Vince! What's wrong with him? I'm not saying he isn't playing SUPERB but he's still not as energetic as he usually is in the playoffs, especially since he hasn't been there in like 3 years. Yes, defense is a factor but he's like the hardest player in the league to guard and it shouldn't affect him like that. In the playoffs he usually averages around 30-40 ppg.

I know we all expect NBA players to be at top condition all the time, but Vince has basically played his heart out just to get the Nets to the playoffs, while the Heat have been able to slack off on teams as the season closed because they had clinched a spot already. He (along with Jason) may be feeling the fatigue; remember he hasn't got play this much (past the regular season) for years now.

i watched that entire game, i was so happy when they stayed with Miamia the whole game. mad when kidd missed the 3 at the end of the 4th quarter for the win. really happy when carter hit that shot to tie it for 2 Ot. then i was really upset when tehy lost. the nest did not deserve to lose, they played great, and with their hearts. but, what are you going to do, they tried but it doesnt matter because they lost.

It's more like 26.1 ppg (including this year) and a .411 FG%. Let's not forget that he really struggled his first time in the playoffs when we got swept by the Knicks. He only shot 30% from the field for that series.
