Fuck why didn't we just foul them after Stauskas hit that 3 at the end of regulation when we were up 3 like we did with the Kings.

Stotts said that was the plan (to foul them), but the Wizards moved the ball too fast, setting up Beal for the 3-point attempt.

Ah okay...I was getting tired of Terry leaving Nurk in against Morris. Why the fuck not Zach like you have the other TWO games closing out the game?!

To me it would've been fine if they would've switched the P&R.
Nurk had blocked/effected a few shots on Wall's drives. He even played good defense when John Wall hit the bank shot to push to back to 4.
But it was a hugely flawed gameplan to ask Nurk or Collins to recover to Morris after helping contain the drive.

You guys. It’s easy to blame this player and that player. I don’t blame dame on that last play. He had six seconds to take it cross court, at half court he kinda stumbled, in his head at that point, he didn’t have much time. Had to put it up. CJ shot terribly. I also don’t understand why Collins wasn’t in but hey whatever I guess. Biggest issue was defense, switches. Leaving Beal open to tie should of never happened. Shit I would leave wall at that point and give him an open three other than wall. They got a lot of open looks. Blazers shot like shit this game, it’s amazing we were even in it all game. It is what it is. 3rd game of an 82 game season. Chill. Just take joy in the fact the lakers are about to lose to the spurs and start off 0 and 3. If we shot even a little better, that game is ours. Bench is way better than last season. CJ was off. Dame was even off despite being able to do other things and get to the line. Anyways, chiiiillllll

I wasn't able to watch the game live so I took notes as I watched. For the record, I am posting this before reading through this thread:

1st half:

I’ve been calling for the “Connaughton Lob” play for Layman to try and get him going. It’s a great play to run at random times.

Turner came in and shot a 3 pointer and a long 2. That isn’t what has been working with him. Then he settled down and shot several shots in a row within 10 feet which is much better.

It’s so weird and nice to see the 2nd unit hold or extend leads even when the other team brings their starters back in.

CJ really struggled in the 1st half but I don’t feel like he was taking bad shots or anything. I’m not really sure what he should do if he’s getting good looks and they aren’t falling. He can get hot at any moment.

How does Beal get an offensive rebound with 4 Blazers around him?

Stauskas driving and cutting to the basket is something he needs to do over and over again if they are overplaying him on the 3 point line. I love seeing the cuts to the basket.

Beal is getting way too many clean looks. The guards can’t switch off of Wall and Beal and leave a big on an island with them .

I wish they would keep attacking when the Wizards are in the penalty and keep getting to the free throw line. Dame was getting to the line almost every time he drove, he should just keep doing that.

Our bigs get absolutely no love from the refs.

Too many turnovers.

The pace of this game is crazy, I guess this is the NBA now?

2nd half:

CJ if Morris is on you and they have no other big in the game who do you think is on Nurk?

Way too fucking sloppy, we would be building a lead right now if we just took care of the ball. It’s hard to watch when everyone is making lazy plays and passes. Stop that shit now so the game doesn’t slip away.

Nurk is shooting great from the free throw line. He looks comfortable and is taking his time. This is a huge weapon if he can shoot a high percentage. He should try to get to the line more.

Maybe Stotts should try playing Stauskas or Curry with the starters when CJ is struggling this badly.

We’re taking bad shots and seem rushed when there are good looks. This 3rd quarter has been the ugliest of the season so far.

How about just not shooting outside of 12 feet Turner? That goes double if it is a turn around and you aren’t square with the basket.

Luckily the Wiz suck right now too.

Nurkic feasts on rebounding missed shots, but screws up many scores under the hoop by bringing the ball down low. He has returned to that habit. He would have had 10 more points if he would catch the ball and keep it high.

Turner was our best player in the 1st half but Stotts hardly used him in the 2nd.

McCollum not only missed all his shots; he made errors in passing and dribbling. Passing: both not passing when he should, and messing up when he did pass.

Lillard sure misses a lot of wide open easy 3-pointers.

Morris kept making 3s from the left side since no one guarded him all game long. In between those, he drove and made layups, since no one guarded him all game long.
