How far do you think the Blazers will get in the Playoffs this season?

  • Poll closed .
Stotts said that was the plan (to foul them), but the Wizards moved the ball too fast, setting up Beal for the 3-point attempt.
The problem with that is Wall was on the arc. If he grabs him he attempts the shot and it's three free throws.

Why the fuck wasn't Collins out there on Morris? They were pick and popping all over the place. WTF was Stotts doing?

I was thinking this during the game and wondered if Stotts was trying to send a message to Nurk. Using an early season game to show what happens when he leaves him in late in a game against a small ball lineup.

Seems like a steep price to pay but it may justify him playing Collins more at the 5 without Nurk being able to pout and say “I would have killed it out there”.

A good coach wouldn’t give two shits what Nurk thinks about playing Collins more but having an non engaged Nurk for a season could be disastrous for Stotts. Just my two cents. Bet we see more Collins in late game situations like that and this game can be used as a reason why he can’t put Nurk back in.

Good coaches don't lose games to make a point in a stacked conference race where every game counts. Now if Stotts is too worried about upsetting the apple cart by confronting HIS STARS, because he's too afraid he'll lose his job..... That makes perfect sense.

All the players loves Stotts and Terry makes sure it's that way. God forbid he should ever yell at them and push them out of their comfort zone during a game.

What is it with Morris/WAS getting away with this shit?

Same score coincidentally.

WTF? That's some ground-hog day shit! I was like "Who's that dude that looks like Allen Crabbe, and why's he playing in crunch time?" And then I was like "That dude IS Allen Crabbe!" :smiley-eek:

I’m with you, there’s better ways to prove a point.

Just wouldn’t be surprised if Stotts is trying to speed up the “passing of the torch” from Nurk to Collins because he thinks our ceiling is higher with Zach at the 5. If that’s the case, pull the fuckin trigger. But I couldn’t help but think that last nights shenanigans wont be used at some point as some kind of message.

Whatever. We all know this team is a first round exit team at best. I think we need to trade cj,start Collins and develop our young players.

We would have been better off to play d AT the 3 point line and leave Nurk in the key to defend the quick 2. Why did we have 3 defenders under the basket. It's not like we didn't know what their plan was.

No reason to rehash it a thousand times over though. We lost. **#$!

I wonder if Damian has any coaches explaining to him what that panel was talking about. Doesn't seem like it.

At some point you have to trust your teammates. Pretty clear to my eyes that the offense is much better when it's a team effort.

I agree with this.
But when he drew the second player there was 1.4 seconds left on the clock. Could have passed maybe at 2.0 seconds but that could have been early? Dame made a decision.
The real point is they should never have been in that position.

It's a pattern with Dame though. Not just a one time me as up.

That doesn't even mention the blatant non call on Lillard.
which one?

Does say the shot he hit at 32 seconds left in OT shoulda been a foul, but before the shot apparently lol, so it would not have been a 3pt play-- only 2 FTs. Refs are screwing Dame over this year with the inconsistent continuation calls.

RAR shows Porter Jr. (WAS) makes contact with Lillard's (POR) arm as he rises up for the jump shot, but the contact occurs prior to his gather

Add that to the list of weird non-continuation calls Lillard gets screwed on.

"As he rises up for the jump shot" but "before the gather"? How do you shoot before you gather?

Just reading this and I keep seeing people post that we lost to a team "we should beat". Why is that? And when we pull out a win this season over a team that "we shouldn't beat" will you all acknowledge this as well?

Usually do. Everyone acknowledges a good win. Go take a game in Houston and yeah they will give lots of credit i'm sure. Hell even beat the Wizards on their court and some will be very happy.

@mods.
Are the Blazers going to send in the video tape of Morris grabbing Steph's shorts from the bench during the last play of regulation?

On second thoght, they should send it in and after the NBA laughs at them, wait till the next wizards game in Nov and pants the shit out of Morris.

For me, a team we shouldn't beat is Golden State or maybe, Boston. Not the team we played last night.

When I was in the 10th grade I was playing pickup ball with friends.
One of my friends did this to me as I blew past him for the layup.
Thankfully he didn't get my boxers. Only the shorts.
