both teams on a losing streak... good luck Blazers against an angry Lebron

only acceptable answer would be if he’s waiting on a particular guy to be available (Ariza?) or is planning on doing an uneven trade. But this is olshey, and history says that’s not the case, so yeah, what the fuckk?
Olshey trades like crazy every season and people are still convinced he never makes any moves. It's so weird. Two seasons ago, he traded for Hood and signed Kanter off the buy-in market who both played a big part in getting us to WCF. Last season, he traded for Whiteside, Bazemore and then Ariza. This season he traded for Covington and Kanter. I mean, you want him to trade the whole roster every season? I don't get it. He's one of the most accomplished traders in the business.

WE should have no problem winning this game. Big one for US considering WE have our 2nd best player out injured.
I'm telling you come up with two or three more of these gems and it will be the joke of the season. Maybe I'm being selfish but the idea is hilarious.

*Marks says Ariza can’t be traded for or signed by Portland.

Brooklyn Nets are most hated for me.

How? They aren't even all that good even with 3 "big stars" defense matters and they suck there so they are gonna have to be on all the time.

Ask LeBron, the east is a fucking cake walk... thats why Durant and Harden went there. (Not proven, but they are proven to be soft af when it comes to competiton).

I'm a Blazer fan but I'm also a BB fan. I want Lebron to play. I'd also like AD to play. Beat them at their best....like back in December

Sure beat them at their best is the optimal scenario, followed by beating them at their worst, followed by losing to anyone wearing the purple and piss. I just prefer to win.

You know what, let us win a chip... going through team after team decimated by injuries and then I'll have the ability to just be a basketball fan when it comes to our team and only want honorable wins. Then I'll think about getting a "real" championship by going through everyone in the league with perfect health. Obviously the players should just understand that injuries are part of the game and that they just have to win.

The Nets are very good. They have won 8 in a row and they are a league leading 11-1 against teams with winning records. So they're not just feasting on bad East teams. I'd say Nets are the favorite to win it all at this point. Sad but true.

4 of the last 6 champions were determined by injuries

2015- Kyrie and Love are hurt and out for Finals
2017- Kawhi gets hurt in WCF Game 1
2019- Durant and Thompson get hurt
2020- Bam and Dragic are out with injuries

You can throw in 2016 too if you consider Bogut a difference maker. Plus Curry was a little hobbled.

Basically the healthiest team wins in this league.

Ever since Olshey handed them Ed Davis for free, Brooklyn has been on a roll.

Haven't seen Dame go off in a bit. Seems like he's been nursing nagging injuries for a while now. Hopefully the two days off helped him and he comes out gunning. Need to stop the losing streak

The battle for losing streak.... Just Win Baby!

The nets have hardly even played with their big 3 and are pretty decent.

if they don’t win the chip I’ll be surprised

If they had an Andre Igoudala I’d take them over the Durant warriors

because the Blazers are predictable?.....remedial offense?.....not enough offensive threats?
It's mostly personnel driven.

We have a lot of great pull up shooters / natural iso, catch and hold type players and exactly one guy that can put pressure on the rim consistently as a ballhandler. Don't have the guards and wings alongside Dame with the combination of shooting, ball handing and passing IQ to keep the chain moving once Dame is able to get a team into rotation.

Dame is score first on the drive though and his size limits his ability to make the skip passes we see from the big creators so it's often himself scoring at the rim or hitting the roll man which are nearly always going to end in contested shots.

A pick and pop 5 also is something the we don't have that offers an easy source for wide open shots.

Missing plenty of open spot ups opportunities with Kanter out there instead of Nurkic as well when teams trap Dame

Look at most of the other top 12 teams in that stat and the story is pretty similar.

Which is why Stotts needs to devise a system to put pressure on the rim through cutting and productive player movement off the ball, but he fails to do so.

Thing is, were probably near the bottom in thos stat in previous years with different personnel.

When you run as many isolations that Portland does, you will almost always be near the bottom in this stat.
